The minimum age on most of these sites is 18 - i really wouldn't start it till you are like 20 minimum. As stupid as it sounds, the online dating scene is like - if you are younger than the girl, 5% chance of her replying (half the time they put a limiter so you cant even message them if you are younger depending on how hot they are) unless you are a baller....so you are limiting yourself to 18 year olds who are getting messaged by 22,23,24 year olds with jobs and higher baller status. What you should do. Spend the next year absorbing every piece of information you can about it, then try. Don't expect any results at first. It took me about a year to get to a point where i can message girls and almost guarantee meeting them. You will fuck it up - a lot. Don't take it to heart, just try to learn what is wrong. Theres plenty of online dating resources - google them! I can definitely confirm what Kennigit said. When he made his blog post about online dating, I thought "fuck it why not try," and it's been about 7-8 months since I've been there and just in the past month my success rate has gone from about 10% to 90% in terms of getting responses from people and meeting people. Other stuff... I've found that (I guess this could depend on location since you usually do searches for people by location) there aren't a LOT of attractive girls but there definitely are some, and I think Kennigit mentioned this in his blog but... make sure your initial message makes them laugh. If you send them a message and they laugh, you're practically 100% guaranteed to get a response back. If you follow up well, you're guaranteed to meet them. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + For a few years I played free MMORPG's and in case you didn't know, a lot of them have insanely high female populations, close to 50-50 if not more girls than guys in some cases. I've had my fair share of online relationships, many were just me and some girl talking flirtaciously and things escalating really quickly. Those lasted a few weeks or a couple months, break up due to boredom more than anything, stay friends, whatever. I'm not oging to quit a video game that i've worked hard to get up to just because of a dead relationship. What I can say is that I have met my partner in life online. She actually began to play the video game I did lol, we did everything together and pretty much reached the top of our server together. But we definitely didn't meet originally with the intent on dating, just like the best situations in a real life ordeal, it all builds from friendship and respect. My advice is to make friendships online or in real life, and have them go from there, don't go into a situation with a girl with the intent on trying to date them, the best relationships come from something that builds up.
