I want to write all this down before I head out to the strip club with my buddies.
I am up into gold currently and hope to make it up into plat in the next day or so. I have gone back to random races to see if I can do any better. I have been doing well as terran, and terrible at zerg, and I have won almost every match I have played at toss.
Yesterday night I played none other than husky, I was toss and him terran. I did nony's phoneix build and he went air I get to his base with 5 phoneix and see 3 starports all with tech labs on them. OOPS 3 banshees spawn right as I get there. I get into his base kill off a mule and some workers and run out. I also make a robo and observer while still pumping a few phoneix and zelots. I get my observer to his base and put it right over his starports so I can see when he is makeing units and swoop in with phoneix and kill them. He gets privy to this moves his marines over and I waltz in his front door and beat H to the usky Husky. This is the first time I have played someone I have heard of. Now I realize that Husky isnt a pro gamer but still something fun.
If you follow my blog you know I was debateing on getting coaching. Well I have emailed LZgamer. Ok I want to write more but I still need to get in the shower before I head out and will most likely be late anyway.

Grats on the win, but it's hard to tell if people are really who they are on Bnet because they allow multiple IDs. I just beat someone called LzGamer today, and I highly doubt it was the real one. Just something to keep in mind! We'll never really know if it was the real one or not, but personally, I would always assume it wasn't.

i played that guy 'Robby' or 'Robbie' don't remember which who streams here sometimes twice.
first game was on steps of war i fe'd and he got to my base like 3 minutes into the game with a whole bunch of marines. my roaches were like 15 seconds late and he won. i was pretty steamed.
next time we played was on metalopolis 2 weeks later. i got favorable positions and toyed with him for 20 minutes before smashing his face in with hydra/roach. was so much fun.
i also played infinity21. bunker rushed me

I might be wrong, but I always thought Husky was a good commentator but absolutely terrible at StarCraft.
But maybe he's good at SC2???? Never really paid attention to his gameplay and haven't seen him in tournaments or anything.

Just because people are "famous" in the sc community don't necessarily make them good.
Also I always laugh at HD/Husky Commentary, in the HDH... every time a Protoss made additional gateways i swear I heard "it looks like he may be going for a 4 gate push".... No he isn't

Ok first Off just because I am in gold right now doesn't mean I am a gold lvl player, if you have read my blog you know I was a diamond lvl player before the reset. Second husky is a good player, but he isn't a pro (yet atleast) I checked his record and the person I played went 4-1 in his ladder games and was placed in gold before he played me. I am not sure how to upload replays or I would upload it, I guess I can watch the replay and take a screen shot and put it on here. But I promise you I did beat a player named husky. I mean seriously if you guys haven't read the first few entrys of my blog then I think you dont know what type of player or how good I am. Sure for this patch I am most likely not going to be a diamond lvl player but I should be in the top of my platnium league before to long.

My name on sc2 is Idra; I don't think much else needs to be said because everybody can be anybody. I've seen many Idra's, white-ra's, and other known top names who were definitely not them (came across a guy named qxc who went ebay in to turrets as his opening bo, in a placement match).
Not everything is as it seems.

I think faction123 was being sarcastic. Husky is famous for his commentaries not for his incredible play or SC knowledge

lol Husky is considered a good player now? >_> Not to bash, but uh... must be a lot of new TLers coming aboard if they think Husky is a name worth beating...

being a good commentator doesnt equate to being a good player, day9 is just exceptional

Maybe husky isn't a name worth beating for most people. But for me it was, sure he isn't known for his play. But if you have read my blog he is what I watched before I got the beta. Sure for most TL memebers he may not be someone who they would care to beat but still, it was for me.

It's also possible it wasn't Husky. He's one of the main ID theft celebs.

...Husky was at least D+ in SC1 which I believe guarantees much more multi-tasking, activeness, and game awareness than a gold/platinum standing represents.

I did recently lose trying to go a Starport build but it wasn't in that fashion.
And also, Hazmat still layin' down the hate, it never ends

I get that he's not the best player but there is a lot of unnecessary bashing on him in this thread. Gold league is pretty low, you know. Don't exaggerate so much you float into the clouds.
