looking for recommendations for a mouse pad, i've been using a cheap cloth mouse pads that comes with the laptop i bought years ago, the thing is that my hands and palms sweats alot when playing games which deteriorates the mouse pad quickly over time, now its just annoying that the bottom half of my mouse pad basically fell apart...

i've been looking around gaming mouse pads and just wondering should i be getting cloth or plastic mouse pads this time, does gaming cloth mouse pad by gaming gear companies such as Razers or Steelseries, able to withstand wet conditions without deteriorating?

i could simply just go for plastic mouse pads, but they comes at a pretty hefty price of around £20, which is around 30-40 dollars i think, which i think is way too much and would like to avoid that. could anyone with similar palm/hand sweating share their experiences with a mouse pad and gives some suggestion on what sort of mouse pad i should be getting? actually i don mind fork out a bit as long as the product last long and high in quality, but trying to get the highest bang for bucks for a product.

edite: people who recommends cloth mouse pads, do your hands sweat during gaming sessions?

I made the switch from cheap foam/plastic mouse pads to a more higher-end and gaming-grade Razer eXactmat. It's made of anodized aluminum and has two surfaces. I perfer the control side, but my mouse (Logitech Mini Optical) glides very smoothly on both sides. A big plus is the anodized aluminum surface is easy to clean and is extremely durable and won't break. The mousing surface is also spacious and comes with an optional wrist wrest (which I don't use). I'd say my eXactmat was definitely worth its price (~$35) and it's the only Razer product I've been truly happy with.

Func 1030 Rough is the best mouse pad I have ever had. I have tried steelseries qck, icemat, xactmat, and the func. Would never try another I don't think.

I have the QcK also, I got the smaller version and it was surprisingly well priced. My hands sweat a bit, but not too bad and it still looks like the day I bought it (got it about a year ago).

If you like hard surfaces (it takes some getting used to from cloth pads) i would recommend Steelseries SX http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/surfaces/sx/information.
Its by far the best mouse pad i've ever had. Its true its pretty expensive but i've been using it for ~7 months, on average 8 hours/day and alot of that is gaming, and it looks and feels like brand new. Steelseries says "Lifelong durablity"...probably not, but u'll spend more money on cloth pads replacing them all the time. I had a Razer salmosa with the steelseries mouse feet (which u get with the SX) and its just great.

edit: regarding sweaty hands, it should handle it better then a cloth pad, just make sure u clean the pad on a regular basis.

You shouldn't have to replace name brand cloth pads very often at all, I've owned my DKT pad for ~6 years and its holding up great, and thats with quite a few spilled drinks and many soap/water washes to keep it clean. Other than a faded logo, still looks like new.
I've replaced it recently with a razer goliathus speed due to poor tracking with my new mouse (razer abyssus is very picky) but any decent cloth pad will last you a very long time, sweaty hands or not.

Qpad pads are made of cloth covered with plastic. Nice just like a normal cloth pad but they dont deteriorate as fast and are easy to clean not to mention they glide nicely. Using one with a deathadder, works pretty well.

If u use a cloth pad for 6 years, i can imagine the standards you have, how much u play and how important mouse precision if to you.

my experience with cloth mouse pad is that at the edge of the mouse pad where my hands mostly rest on deteriorates the bonding between the cloth and rubber pieces and shit just went downhill from there...

well actually, do ur palm and hands sweats alot?

Same here.

I've had a func1030, 5L, QcK+ and an mTw pad. They're all good, but this is my favorite since the mTw pad.
