I'm mostly a TL reader, but something happened today I had to share. Usually my gf is the kind that likes to have long talks on the phone. If I'm not in the mood to talk and try to end the conversation prematurely, she'll make a fuss about it and I'll indulge her, after all, we're in love. We haven't been going out that long, just over 6 months, and she's well aware of my passion for starcraft and my fondness for JD especially . So she called me up today while I was in the middle of watching Calm vs JD (semi-finals of MSL), + Show Spoiler +
The conversation went a little like this:
Her: - So what are you doing?
Me: - I'm watching Jaedong.
Her: - I understand, we'll talk later.
At that point I was ready to ask her to marry me. My feelings could be summed up thusly:

I remember when my GF used to be like that... Just remember to set your priorities straight. Like, don't make her feel like you care about Starcraft more than you do about her, or else this accommodating attitude of hers won't last long.

I'm jealous, however I know the feeling.
I've been trying to get my gf into starcraft ever since I started playing SC2 heavily,
she's into FPS and WoW, but slowly trying to get her into SC has been a challenge.. I think at some point if she plays online and beats on kids in copper division I think she'll like it, but I think she hates having to relearn a new game where as FPS games are straight-forward..
Anyone else have any suggestions? I like to try to play 2v2 with her sometime in the future once I get her a stable SC2 Beta key.

Bragging on a forum like tl.net is not worth noting. A lot of trollers that made similar gf threads had been closed and flamed. I believe this is one of those. Before you make some misleading accusations about something that didn't happen. I believe someone like you that made an account a month early doesn't have the right to decide who's right and wrong. GF's who allow that are always cool - though it doesn't necessarily mean they are marrying material.
I can have chats with my gf about starcraft progaming at times - and she seems interested (or is good at faking it, which i appreciate). That being said, its important not to inundate them with your starcraft interest - otherwise it seems unhealthy (which, of course, it is).

She knows when I have that look of intense concentration (ie when I am playing) to not to talk to me, she tries to play once in a while and does horribly, but tries. She doesn't make fun of the fact I love watching pro sc matches regularly. She knows she just has to accept it :D
