It seems like just yesterday that you could see the BW forums from the top fold of the page, but now they're quite far down the forum roll on the left side. Obviously it's just a minor inconvenience, but I can't help but wonder why.

I like the new subforum layout and all, but is the BW forum really that deserted? The Flash vs Pure thread was jumping despite being a 'late' game last night, and a few topics in the general BW forum (KeSPA / Blizz ones especially) have seen a lot of response as well.

Maybe this is a bit much to ask, but it would be awesome to see the BW forum, say, where the General forum currently is. =P

or you could think of it like how supermarkets shelve their items: they place their important items on the bottom shelf so the customer is forced to view all the other items while searching for it

I like the SC2 forums above the BW. The BW forum is like 8 years old, we've all seen enough of that

IMPULSE BUY

well what gets used more sc2 or bw forum?

it's pretty easy to see that sc2 should be higher up so you dont have to scroll down as much to use the more popular forum
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
Oh goodness me, FOX tv where do you get your sight? Can't you keep track, the puck is black. That's why the ice is white.

Nonsense, BW is as exciting as ever, and a lot of people are realizing that now after a couple of months in SC2 beta heh.

The OSL finals is going to be held in a hangar ffs!

a little bit off topic, but actually brands would like to have their items shelved at average eye level where it would catch the eye of most people. Kids things are usually shelved lower so kids can get to them and whine to their mommies to buy it for them

Hopefully kids will whine to their mommies to buy them BW. If only.

lol, wasn't being pompous my friend, I was merely adding to what you said, not refuting it. There is no doubt some retailers do what you said. Again, I am not in retail management or marketing. Just what I was told by those in retail management. No need to get so defensive.

Like anything these days, you pay for prime placement and supermarkets do make money selling prime placement just like any store online or offline. Not an academic source, but the guy talking is in retail management. Lots of academic papers out there on it if you are interested. You seem to be in marketing. Anyway, he said:

"Prime selling space is right in the center, eye-level if you will," Marks says. In fact, companies sometimes pay thousands of dollars to have their products placed on the center shelf. And, Koeppen continues, those items tend to be more expensive than the ones found high or low. "The lower level and the high-on-top level, they're kind of the low-rent districts," Marks notes. "You put commodities there -- things that don't bring in a lot of profits that people are going to buy, no matter what." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/04/27/earlyshow/contributors/susankoeppen/main4970889.shtml

Its a news article, no, seems to be like some contributor's article. take it for what its worth, just like when high schoolers cite wikipedia in academic papers. Makes you cry inside.

Though, if there's a huge disparity in forum usage it probably wouldn't make as much sense to have the BW forum on top. I'm really unsure if that's true, but if it is consider this blog a lament more than anything.

It should be where SC2 is. It deserves that treatment; plus it is precedes SC2 so its also logical.

I impulse click on SC2 when wanting to click on BW forums, it's so annoying. BW forums where SC2 or General is would be nice.

General is used more than Brood War, so I like the current layout. Stop being lazy and just scroll down the page slightly.
