I like to sing. Anybody who's been around TL long enough knows I like to sing. Singing is something that I do to fill time when my head is too crammed to study any more. It's just a personal cure for depression and burnout.
I've grown a lot musically since this thread here. (Which is something I want to start up again, despite all my broken promises.)
I've studied the whole day today, and decided to take a few minutes off. I recorded something in four parts, with only one take on each. Kinda like this one that I did a few months ago:
I'm pretty pleased with the result, since I was almost sight-reading three of the parts. Those of you fortunate enough to have my group's CD should recognize - it's the arrangement I wrote for "Kiss the Girl" from Disney's The Little Mermaid: [url blocked]
The default folder that my music saves to just happens to be the folder I used to save my submission for TL Idol. Unfortunately Falcynn never received enough submission for round two, so I thought I'd post it here, it's been sitting on my hard drive since December (and is the main motivation of this blog): [url blocked]
And of course this was my submission for round one of said contest: [url blocked]
That's all for now. I have plenty of musical projects on the way, my last finals are on Monday and Tuesday! Back to my studying, now that I've re-energized.
Does anybody else sing? I contacted a couple people a few months ago to do a joint recording, I should probably PM them again when I get time.
What do you guys do to re-energize?
Here's hoping all of the links work! *crosses fingers*
I sang when I was 14-15 and was actually awarded best singer of my boarding school. /flex (I guess it says more about the school than it does about me though) I like to sing - like a lot. Singing along with songs and youtube is something do quite often, to the great enjoyment of my surroundings. I never learned to read notes and hit them properly but I got a semidecent singing voice nonetheless.
You're better than I am, though I don't think your recording equipment did you justice: it was quite grainy to say the least. Still I'm not entirely certain you hit all the notes straight on, but not bad at all.
What software do you use to sync yourself up? Or do you just have elite rhythm skills and do 4 takes with the badass assurance that you'll match up exactly??!?!?!
Unfortunately I don't have a natural talent for singing like I seemed to have for guitar so I had to work pretty hard to get pretty good. Still working on getting that "pretty good" to "kickass" though
