Hey everyone. It's me, the loveable tofu - your resident ICCup Clan Wars Super Admin, ICCup Quality Assurance Admin, ICCup Training Program leader, TAD Team Leader/Manager/Developer, amazingly useless Liquipedia contributor, and recent TL poster.

First off, I want to say "holy &*#@ing &*@(". I got into competitive SC maybe...a year ago? I've played SC since it came out. I occasionally came to TL to check something out now and then, but only recently have I started trying to be more active here. It never really occured to me how amazing this place is.

Now..on with the actual content of this particular blog: my insane sleeping habits.

Currently, I'm out of work (which sucks). This gives me lots of free time and no specific time to be up and out the door. I found that this happened during summer breaks back in high school as well. Specifically, I started pushing when I went to be back by an hour or two, usually to finish a show or watch an entire season of Hyungjun Becomes a Progamer all in one go (*cough*).

The result of this is that I've pretty much flipped my sleep schedule completely on its head. It's 7am local time for me, and I've already been awake for 14 hours. Before that, I was awake for nearly 3 days (with about 8 hours of napping throughout). I can't just fall asleep when I want to (arrr) and when I stay up to try and get to bed at a normal time I sleep way too long to make up for being awake for so long and end up on the same schedule.

Guess I'll have to keep going an hour at a time till I'm back to normal.

This happened me when I was in college, I found the easiest solution to be to get up at 0800 (or whenever your normal time is) regardless of how little sleep it got me (in my case, none) and then stay up until midnight... repeat twice and you should break it up fairly quick

sleep is not just like "get 8 hours every 24 and you're good".
you might not have any negative side-effects at the present stage but your body can suffer serious trauma if you keep this schedule up. metabolism and brain activity both suffer without a consistent sleep schedule. sleep at night and play during the day for your health.

I would say just enjoy it while you can. All too soon you'll be in some 9 to 5 job and you'll miss your vampire lifestyle.

I'd imagine not much. There are millions of people who work night shifts around the world and have done so for many many years.

Try paring it back bit by bit. Go to sleep 2 hours earlier each night. You should have it fixed in 5 days. That can be pretty hard though when as you said you have no reason to get up at a specific time.

Alternately try getting up at say midday tomorrow. If this means u get like 4 hours sleep then you should be pretty tired that night. Your body will still want to go to bed in the late morning but it should work out over about 2-3 days.

Just get up, doesn't matter how tired you are. You will be terrible for a day or two, but then you will have turned it back.

It actually wasn't a blog but yea I wrote a long ass guide covering most aspects of sleep. It's value is that it's backed by research rather than misconception unlike most sleep info.
