I'm trying to find a super old game called "Meat Puppet." I don't actually want the game, just the soundtrack. It had some absolutely awesome tracks, and I only have 2 on my computer. Anyone have any idea where to find said tracks? I've been hunting for about 3 days now lol.

It would help people if you told us what video game music websites you tried, but couldn't find anything.

Knowing the platform of which the game was played on would help alot when searching.

I have a copy of the game, but haven't been able to find the audio files yet. I'm sure they're in one of the two .dat files, but so far none of the ~20 or so programs I've tried has been able to read them.

Why not just play the game and use a program to figure out the songs (Like Shazam for iPhone and Ipod touch.

It is very likely that the music won't be found in those databases. If they were, then a simple search for "Meat Puppet Game Soundtrack" would suffice. It's probably because it was all original music for the game. However, this might work if it is music taken from other places and used for the game.

dude, the soundtrack to that game is the sickest haha. I actually only have 3 tracks from a demo CD I got in an old school PC gamer magazine

Ah I remember the days where you could pop almost any game cd into a music player and it would play the game music like any standard music cd.

I miss those days.

I used to do that with my warcraft 2 cd when I was like 8.

Hey Day9,

This is a totally unrelated comment. Excuse me for trying to contact you this way.

I watch all of your dailies from the on-demand section of livestream. Although I have a great internet connection I find the playback to be very poor with lots of halting pauses. The player itself occasionally just stops and I need to refresh the page and work my way back to the right point, at other times (possibly because I use a Mac) Flash itself dies and the player won't work again until I reboot my machine. All these combine to mean that an hour long show can take 1h10m - 1h30 to watch.

I'd like to float this idea:

* Make the on-demand files available by bit torrent -- possibly instead of via livestream.

It'd also be nice if your daily.tv thread could be promoted to tab on the right hand side of the teamliquid.net site.

Thanks so much for putting all the effort into the dailies and the starcraft community. The community is oh so much richer because of you.

Also thanks for reading all the way to the bottom of this comment. Cheers,
Merlyn

hi
don't know where i should send this message about your webcastings
my bad
sincere thanks for commenting on plays from a fiercely awaited game not accessible yet... (brrrrrrblizzard marketing lag nag)
just one thought:
when dwelling in closer bullet time speed : switch more from one player exclusive view to the other, to better view the slowed down battle taking place (particularly usefull for stategy / placement analysis and psychology of said players when in their micro fest mode)

the replay functionality is realy one of the smartest change in this game
thanks again, keep it up

it sais its down for maintanance, but I see comments from 2010 claiming its a good game. Check back to the site i presume? But the site kinda looks a scam too, lol

If all else fails, Archaic can just play the game, set the sound effects to 0 and music to max, and record it.

The files EIN.DAT and MEAT.DAT can be opened by 7zip. Inside EIN.DAT there was a directory called "sfx" filled with the sound effects (and, I'm guessing, music). The individual files are named *.sfx.cmp. I tried and failed to determine their format. I tried and failed to decompress them, but they sure look compressed to me.

My guess is that we need to, say, decompress them, and play them with the help of something like AdPlug.

I have uploaded the directory (26MB) to my Dropbox in case anybody wishes to take a crack at it.
