So with the recent rise in these competitions for devout blizzard and starcraft fans to get their hands on sc2 beta keys, I've decided to hop on the bandwagon and throw a contest. :D
Rules:
You must take a picture (or video) of yourself balancing objects on your head/face/body.
You may not use your hands/forearms to stabilize the objects.
The objects can be anything; books, cups, chairs, foods/drinks, shoes, televisions sets, rollerblades, anything.
Ideally it scores higher if you are standing up while balancing, but if you were sitting or laying down doing some really creative things with many objects that will be accepted.
You must have a piece of paper in your image or video that has your username on Teamliquid. (no bonus points for "<3's" or other things directed to me or TL)
I will be scoring on a 25 point scale. 1-5 for creativity, 1-5 for dexterity, 1-5 for strength/weight, 1-5 for stability, 1-5 for size/volume of objects.
Applicants must submit their entries by tomorrow. You snooze, you lose.
the rubik's cube was solved at the start though, she just kept moving a single face back and forth. but, still impressive!
probably was also reading pi off of a sheet in front of her
OT, but it actually sounded like she memorized it in a sort of song form. My uncle does this with phone numbers and other things. Plus she was looking down or had her eyes closed for the first part.

yeah its not hard actually. i memorized 200 digits of pi for a contest at my school. which was 4 years ago. and i can still recite at least 80 of them from the top of my head O_O. I find it weird i still remember that many hahah.

well technically she did some weird edge cycle/flip thing that i don't really get, she started moving the same face after she finished but was still reciting pi kind of lame to claim solving a cube like that >.< still impressive tho

Good luck.
what does the winner of your contest get? I'm just cautious today...
sorry bugz but badass-ness is not one of the judging categories. unlucky man.
here's my first one. if its not enough i'll put on more shit. + Show Spoiler +
the hachimaki is hisshou, determination to win! there is a spoon balancing a potato (because i didn't have an egg) coming out of my mouth. the books are all of my korean/chinese materials, with a german book i bought on the internet for $1 at the bottom.
you probably can't see it, but i have a japanese t-shirt and also a black pen that says "Korean Air" on it. i got it from a korean guy at an airport several years ago.
...and here is the picture of what it says on the paper that i had to poke 3 holes in because it took me the entire time between this and my last post in this thread to do it... so that you know it was me who did this: + Show Spoiler +
edit -- took me 2 hours to pull this off! did i mention i was standing on one foot for almost those full 2 hours trying to get it right?
edit*2 -- by the way, the note that i wrote was written backwards because i had to make it legible in the mirror. pretty good, eh?

Couldn't you just hold the camera out with one arm and take a picture of yourself that way? Seems easier. Also, I don't think I have time to learn how to balance a kayak on my chin in time for this, damn.

if i was concerned with making things easier i would've just done the books. go big or go home.
edit -- besides, how would i have been able to get the ball on my foot in that shot? foot stalls are not that easy. especially when your foot is elevated like that so that the camera angle catches it in the mirror.
Sorry for the sideways orientation. The mad stare also isn't because of anger, I am actually rather jolly, I'm just focusing on destroying a squad of marines with banelings.
That's a pimp hat surrounded by diet Dr. Pepper cans with a bottle of rum on the top balancing a sombrero with 3 beer pong cups stacked on top in one photo, and the other I'm balancing a bowl on my knee while standing on one leg as well.
I realize that this could definitely be an April Fool's but at the same time, dignity risked on the internet is not dignity at all, and I've been after a beta key for so long. At any rate, CharlieMurphy, I hope you get a laugh out of this. Broke up a routine day for me
On April 01 2010 11:49 BuGzlToOnl wrote: How can you be a writer for TL and not be in the beta?
I asked myself that same question...
Truth be told, I haven't gone to any Blizzard events (haven't been on staff long enough to benefit or know the guys enough), I'm on the lower rungs of the staff (MSL duty) and I opted in quite late with a quite unremarkable rig !
Also, the staff didn't just receive a stash of keys to distribute amongst themselves. TL is run by people of integrity. Just because you contribute for them doesn't mean you receive preferential treatment to the extreme, and it's one of the things that makes this site such a great community. When they got the CJ shirts, they didn't just hand them out among themselves, they opened it to the community, when they got the beta keys they didn't just secretly dole them out if you had a forum star or red in your name. No, the guys who run TL are profoundly invested in their community, and they know that they receive things for them to give to their community. I wouldn't have given this place my services as a writer if I didn't believe in their integrity and support it whole heartedly, so I've been perfectly happy with not being on the receiving end of any special treatment (and indeed I support it being that way), because I know that I also have the appreciation of the community as well as the staff, and hell, I just love Starcraft. It's about the game, and while a beta key would be nice, I can certainly live without.
I realize this is probably an April Fools prank, but how often do you get the chance to play "A Whiter Shade of Pale" while balancing super system, and a skull wearing a sombrero on top of a fez? Not very often.
I'm too lazy to write on my face, but someone needs to write 'Stalkers do -1 damage, Marauders do +2 damage" or draw a big NO sign over carriers and say they are balancing SC on their head.

On that note, you need to eat a little more bugz
Didn't have a shirt on to begin with.
I have gained 15-20 lbs. since freshman year in high school. I'm now a senior in college. No matter what I do I don't gain any weight. I'm starting to think something is wrong with me I mean fast metabolism can only do so much. Currently stand at 6'1, 145 lbs. :p

want me to balance more books? i'm a fucking 4th year college student. my computer and mousepad are piled on a tower of books. i will fucking balance every single one of those motherfuckers and take the picture myself if it means you'll give it to me.
if doing a foot stall above hip height while wearing a hachimaki while holding up a sign that was written on BACKWARDS in 3 fucking languages and yet still is legible while balancing a potato on a spoon that's plugged into my fucking mouth while balancing korean and chinese books on my head doesn't earn me a β key, i don't know what will.
Pictures taken with laptop by timer, so not the best of quality. Can't' say I would do this again, almost had to become a pirate. :p
Hey, I'ma post pics on TL.net of me doing something rad!
Wait a sec, let me get this stupid shirt off.
Alright I'm ready!
Do you honestly think he was trying to be a show-off with a undernourished body? Like previous poster said, he probably was just preventing any damage of his clothes ^_^
