I can't believe its starting tomorrow... I've waited so long for this day to come. The biggest trance/techno/house/whatever music festival in the world is taking place once again in Miami, Florida and this time I am going to fucking be there. Several of my close friends and I will embark on a once in lifetime venture that hopefully will not end with one of us in a jail cell or waking up in an alley with a sore anus. This will be my first time attending and the general consensus among my buddies that have gone is that this shit is the jam.
apparently, this is what that shit is
I'm pretty sure at least some of you on TL can appreciate this music, and with that can share my enthusiasm and excitement. Having said that I am pretty much a huge noob when it comes to this genre and consequently can only identify a few names on the lineup:
I only know Tiesto(duh), Deadmau5, Eric Prydz(only for Call on me lol), Paul van Dyke, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and DJ Icey. All because of my insane Estonian friend who jizzes at each syllable of these names. This will also be the first time I go to a show of this genre so its going to be pretty cool to see the big names on stage. Hopefully there will be a ton of pictures taken throughout so I can post some here and let you all know how its going. Perhaps other TL'ers will be attending?

I would strangle 100 hospitals full of infants to go to this, you are one lucky bastard

I envy you... Hope you have a blast!

I don't listen to any edm, so the fact that i've heard of a decent number of the artists on that list indicates that it's a big deal.
Have fun man, it should be a great concert

my 2 friends have already been there for 2 days lol, I've already got crazy emails from them and its not even friday yet

Ya my god, that would be awesome...
But I'm flying out for ASOT 450 next week so that's my little consolation ;d

I listen to a fuckton of electronic music and looking over this lineup I don't like ANY of these artists with the possible exception of a few Deadmau5 tracks (Strobe/Brazil/Slip) and good old TCM.
I'm sure it will be fun, but most of these dudes are insanely boring....
maybe Meat Katie will whip out some actually decent breaks, but I wouldn't bet on it...
Evol Intent will at least be interesting

Best two on that are Armin and Ferry , Tiesto is way too mainstream now. Have a good time!
I'd also watch BT also since he's doing a 10 year retro set. Deadmau5 if you're into electro. I really haven't heard any of Underworld's recent stuff. But I would just watch them to see Born Slippy or Cowgirl. =P

Well then you obviously don't like a lot of Trance/electroish music if you don't like these DJ's. It's ok that you prefer techno/house/drum & bass over trance but those genres are boring and do the same old beat over and over to me. So it's all up to the person opinion. Also I wouldn't call having 20k+ people at a festival with these people boring. But it is up to one's taste in music. I myself hope I can go next week. Also the biggest music festival I believe is either electric zoo festival in NY or the electric daisy festival in LA. Electric daisy festival pulled 100K+ people last year as well as the NYE party they had in LA this past one.

Nahh, its not that, I really think most of these guys are uninteresting, I like house alot, and good trance is superfun (but as rare as a desert polar bear)!
Check out Incognet for some great house, you could start with his track Avesta
I also like Lazy Rich and Felguk for electro a ton, then you've got Wolfgang Gartner (fidget house), Vibrasphere is god level, Danger is sweet too. I even like some Avicii to chill out too, and thats just about the most repetitive stuff you can imagine (barring oldschool techno)...
EDIT: It really doesn't matter how many people show up, most people never really listen to enough music to actually develop a serious opinion ("I like everything except country"). Its fine for them, they have fun, its just that music isn't as important to them and they often times honestly don't know about anything better...
