It's ridiculous when R1CH takes over your computer to fix it. The stuff he's doing is so foreign to me I might as well be in the year 2175 where we control computers with our brains.
He priced out computer parts for Hot_Bid. Knowing it was good enough for R1CH, I simply purchased the same computer. If R1CH told me to set my computer on fire to fix it, I would do it without questioning it.
I also think R1CH could ruin my (or anyone's) life if he wanted. Like you call him a newby at BGH and then the next day the cops are battering down your door to find 180 gigs of child porn that wasn't there when you went to bed.

so ill just post this and hope you can make sense out of it cuz im lazy. hotbid got a different video card, thats the only difference between our comps:

i bought it in canadian dollars. but i also added a $210 monitor, $5 cable, and $120 windows. It was somewhere around $1227 including all that, not including shipping, fees and taxes.
so id guess around $900 CAD? That would probably bump down to $750 or $800 USD.

LGA 775 is a platform that is at it's very end of life. If you're looking for a later upgrade path, you should either go for an AM3 platform or a intel socket 1366 platform.
It's not bad specs per se(I bought a computer with similar specs back in 2008), but it's not very future proof.

I don't think he created any malicious programs like maphack/bots that ruined the game for others but rather handy tools like ilvl checkers etc. am I wrong? Besides that D2 hacking isn't nearly as bad as SC imo.

Im still having trouble deciding what parts to go with my CPU, GPU and RAM. Especially a mobo and PSU since its difficult for me to choose for a cheap one thats fine or a decent budget one. :/

I talked w/ r1ch in irc 2 years before i even knew about tl.net, he's kind of a big deal there too. in diablo 2 there is this world event named diablo clone. when you sell enough stone of jordans (insanely rare ring but massively duped in former years) on a certain IP (between 80-120, but with a large amount of outliers) uber diablo spawns. he replaces the next superunique monster that spawns in the game. If you can kill him, you get the annihilus small charm--+1 all skills and +10-20 stats/res
r1ch created a program that would rapidly join games for you and check the ip of the server in pursuit of these charms and made it compatible with as many clients as you could run at once. I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure he also created the virtual infrastructure that streamlined the process for the entire community
and somehow he still found the time to talk to me about a really minor problem

I really love R1CH though I never really know him nor got helped from him. Speaking of which.... I wonder if he can come down here and answer to my current need of help with my laptop:
So basically starting yesterday, my laptop (windows 7 ultimate and very old since 2006) have randomly restarting and rebooting itself. Just RANDOMLY. There even isn't a pattern, whenever it feels like it. I touch the back part of laptop and it is hot but I wonder if it is really because of overheating since I don't have a blue screen and just restart. I feel like this laptop either has a virus or something OR it's time to slowly say goodbye to my 4 years old laptop and get a new laptop. In that case, can you recommend me a nice laptop to buy (I don't know how to build one but I suppose if I receive help...) that's inexpensive, like you did with the desktop specs?? :D
And also briefly mention what my problem could be with my current old laptop...

And tbh, for every ONE thing you guys actually see R1ch doing, he has done TWENTY more things behind the scenes. The dude is simply amazing, and he is never looking for any kind of accolades or recognition. He is the epitome of selflessness.
