No opinion or conjecture in this post, just going to relate the facts that a lot of people seem to be missing.
With respect to the third game before the blackout:
1) There were at least two 'replays' of the game shown (not actual replays but just showing the archived broadcast) but neither went to the complete end of the game before the blackout hit. At the end the screen was on the bottom left expo where Jaedong had 1-2 defilers, a few ultras and some lings. I think Flash had 20 or so M&M near the top ramp to that base but I'm not certain. Flash was probably just about to attack again, but he wasn't in a battle when the blackout happened. That point was never shown in either MBC 'replay' of the game: they stopped each one too early before when the blackout actually happened.
2) Flash had just started mining from the 9 mineral only when the blackout happened.
---
With respect to the blackout:
1) According to abascus who was doing live translating on Roffles' stream, sometime immediately after the blackout a fan invaded Flash's booth or something. Abascus repeated this a couple of times. I have no other details but most people don't seem to be aware that this was reported. (edit: Someone mentioned that this might have actually been a reference to Flash's computer fan being the cause of the blackout, not a physical fan of Flash who is a person who decided to get into his booth. Pretty sure abascus used the term 'invaded' though. Not sure which interpretation is correct.)
2) KT apparently decided to walk-out but didn't.
3) Flash's dad argued for a rematch with the KESPA refs who had awarded Jaedong game 3. Apparently after being told to accept the decision or forfeit Flash ended up playing.
---
That's it, no conjecture, no opinions, just the facts as I heard them.

OSL > MSL...
Sigh... neither player can feel good about this...
And they didn't even show fOrGG's win!

If a fan really invaded that studio, they have some horrible security there. Worst starleague final management ever.

thanks for this, but it still doesn't clear up the icky mess that's been created by kespa.
can't wait for next months power rank

What I never heard of a fan getting in there... Im under the impression Flashes computers fan didnt work properly.

Ah. As I read abascus reporting it he used the term 'invaded' I believe.

So they put in fihgting spirit against the wish of Flash. Was that a penalty for objecting against the jugdes judge of the outcome of battle 3?

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Abascus was mentioning that that was the map that Flash had thumbed down.
edit: But the MSL live report page 1 intro shows Fighting Spirit as the planned game 4 map.

And what did that fan do?
This is such a dictatorial move by KeSPA, at least ask the players if they want a rematch or not. Obviously both will say yes. I'd rather have one starleague than two with one being fucked by greedy people.

Anyone who is satisfied with the outcome of this is an idiot

Thumbing down a map for finals means that map won't be played twice

Everything about this was disappointing. JaeDong played the game of his life against the most talented Terran ever at the peak of his skill on a T>>>Z map. Every time Flash's 2 base macro looked like it was going to overwhelm JD pulled some units from nowhere and just managed to block it. The battle for 7 was epic. Flash's last massive push trying to destroy JD's key gas expansion before Flash mined out. If he succeeded he could continue on his new base and just knock down expansion attempts while taking a second one himself. If he failed then JD controlled 5 gas and Flash's only real (ie not mined out or about to mine out) expansion was vulnerable. The swarms were spectacular. The science vessel sniping was awesome. The fight went on for what seemed like ages as both players poured everything they had into it. Constant irradiates and swarms as mnm and lings were fed into the grinder.
This should have been the peak of JD's career. Forcing Flash to GG on Flash's best map in his best matchup at the peak of his skill. JD was robbed.

Yeah, pretty much exactly this. That was the most amazing battle i've ever seen.. and then that. How the fuck do you fuck up Flash and Jaedong playing long games in the finals for your starleague so badly?
|
Well JD threw down a lot of swarms above 7 to defend it, but a lot of his units left the swarm to pursue and died, and he would be down to two lone ultras hold positioning under swarm until his reinforcements came.
