Today marks the end of my first year at TL, and I'm celebrating with my 1111th post and my first blog entry. I just wanted to say how happy I am that I found this site, it is definitely the most interesting and most friendly online community I have ever been a part of.
I first found TL when I was looking up build orders when I was playing some 1v1 games against my korean suitemate last year. Back then, I didn't know anything about how to play beyond fastest maps (><, i know), didn't know iccup existed, and the only thing I knew about progaming were the pimpest plays posted at sclegacy. Fast forward to today, and I barely play starcraft anymore, but I spend far more time browsing TL and watching following the pro scene.
TL has extended my starcraft obsession, now all my close friends know about it. My girlfriend baked me a jaedong cake for my birthday, and she likes hearing about the random TL forum antics. The first thread I showed her was fakesteve's limerick thread so I think to this day, she is still convinced that TL a community of starcraft enthusiast poets.
Here's an acrostic she wrote for me to post:
Today marks my first year at TL post!
Even so, don't think I mean to boast

Let me pause and propose a small toast:
I depend on this forum for lots-
Questions, anecdotes, contests, and plots-
Unless Starcraft implodes,

You mean the permanent ban? No I didn't forget about it. I just said temp ban.
edit: unless you count being permbanned and then unbanned 1 second later as a 'temp ban' :p

How do you see how many/when temp bans were on your account? I think i've only ever got one on mine in the 2 or so years ive been here

I'll try to find a picture of the jaedong cake, i think it's on my old computer. it's just a cake with a sprinkle-mosaic picture of jaedong on it, doesn't exactly look like him but it's the thought that counts right?
