I just found this out that 85% of elevators don't have a 13th floor. This is the most retarded thing I have ever heard in my life. When my friend told me this nonsense, my first thought was, well it's still not as stupid as believing that we evolved from monkeys.   | ||

i nice example of buildings avoiding the 13th floor is my very own uni library; it's suppose to have exactly 13 floors, but since the 7th floor is a mechanical floor, they just call it the mechanical floor and name the actual 8th floor as the 7th floor, the actual 9th floor as the 8th, the actual 13th as the 12th, etc etc edit: oakhill you should add a poll in the op to see how many ppl know about this, i'm interested as well | ||

I'm not aware of this in Australia (though not too many residential buildings are above 13 floors in Aust LAWL.) Just imagine in the event of a fire, and a building somehow has 13th floor. How would an external rescue party assess the headcount? Will they form an assumpion that there's no 13th floor? | ||
