Sup asl? I found out I like doing food blogs so I'll stick to that from now on. Been gathering some good material so I'll be making a lot of (somewhat healthy) cooking/buying blogs ^^
As a continuation from my first blog, I went back to Kim Phat in Brossard, Quebec. I actually went another time around mid-july, but sadly I had no camera to take pics T-T. Only differences were I got Chocopies and new ramen (Chocopies are actually the same as something we have called Whippets. Even says so in the Chocopie description + Show Spoiler +
Choco Pie, produced by Orion Confectionery in Korea, are similar to Canadian Whippets.
This time I came back with some deceptions as some of my favorite noodles weren't available (Mi Goreng Satay, Jah Jiang noodles and Sichuan Dan Dan noodles, to name a few).

The ramen/noodles I got. About 75% of it consists of repicks from my previous successful raid because tl.net is such a great community.
Funky stuff I felt like trying. Myojo Chukazanmai has decent scores in the multiples reviews I've seen, but it's terribly overpriced for the small package so I only went with one to try for now. The cold Korean noodles was just too good to pass up on. + Show Spoiler [extra noodles, because I plan on makin…] +
Deserts! Finally got around to try frozen mochi, holy fuck it's good. Next time I stop by Chinatown or there, I'll buy some red bean/normal to try, but ffs vanilla is sublime. Also, /sadface @ Pocky, they didn't have BaeBaeRo t_t. As always, custard Lotte pies and some fresh pastries.
To finish, I got some condiments. Black Sesame Oil, Chili Oil, Chili Shrimp sauce, Chili Garlic sauce (not shown, already opened and used. Very sexy.) and Wagamama's Spicy Chilli Men, which I bought in my 3-day trip to London and unfortunatly had to use in about 2 weeks because it couldn't be kept for long after you open it. It was awesome, I'll post the pics of some of the dishes and recipes I cooked up with that baby.

nice crossover of udon and ramen. Looks like ramen uncooked but bigger, then when cooked it retains some kind of udon chewyness. Not spicy at all, tastes like seafood but not an overwhelming taste.
my second spicy choice after Shin Ramyun. The spice in it doesn't kill all other flavors so adding stuff to the ramen makes it extremely interesting. Still relatively spicy.
again, pretty accurate remake of american style chow mein. Only bad part is that when you cook it the portion is pretty small and you probably won't be content.

I miss going to my old Chinese super markets and bakeries. I used to live and work in the tiny Chinese area of my city in England. It was always exciting to see what new things were imported for us to buy. (Especially the candies and drinks.) The mochi ice cream bon bons sound really intriguing. We have some Chinese import shops here in Myeongdong, but only one of them is a bakery. I go to the rest for magazines mainly.
Pro tip: Cook the noodles and soup base separately. I like to heat the soup base for long time while adding random vegetables, spices, and kelp (its like a nature's version of MSG) in it. I am looking for a spicy yet "profound" flavor. I like to not cook the noodles too much; keep the slightest sense of tanginess. Drain the water and rinse under cold water. Put it in the bowl. Pour the broth over it.
myojo is really good. that was my fav. instant noodles in singapore. now that i've relocated to tokyo i get to eat the really good stuff. actually i've been really dissapointed... i've had like 5 different packs of japanese instant noodles and none of them were as good myojo (the green packet one with the oil).
I always loved Sapporo Ichiban Shiyo (salt) or Miso flavored ramen... Except they're more expensive than the Korean ones, and contain only 80g of noodles compared to 100g for the Korean ones
All of the different Korean brands are interchangeable for me, they all make similar enough flavors. Though I always thought Shin Ramyun was pointlessly spicy for something you eat with BOILING HOT WATER (and no one waits for that to cool down).

they're at most 500 cal a pop. so like 6k-7k cal guess he was just going for the "OMG INSTANT RAMEN IS BAD FOR YOU"
