The thing about automine is that it isn't the most important part of economy anyway. The biggest problem people have is just making enough workers in the first place. It doesn't really matter too much if you tell them all to mine once you have 2-3 idle(unless at a very high level), it mostly just matters if you tell him to mine.

I mean, yeah it's kind of annoying that I can no longer enjoy my perfect split, but in reality it isnt a big deal at all.

To me, these functions never meant to make the game easier. They just changed the style of the game alittle. But also, I did like SC:BW because of not having MBS, automine and whatever. It gives the game more character. A player can choose to either have 'perfect' macro, or 'perfect' micro, or have pretty good of both. It's all valid, since a micro player wont loose as many units as the macro player, but the macro player will obviously spend all his money better, giving him more units to make up for his loss of units in battle.

In SC2, this will be eliminated (maybe not totally, but it feels like it), and everything will come down to micro and harassment.
