Road Trip

I'm currently halfway through a road trip from LA to ann arbor, michigan (going to grad school). It's been pretty insane so far. I had a friend with me and we hit vegas, salt lake city, and ft collins (random stop). My friend managed to break his leg in two places and after taking care of him for a couple days, he'll be flying out tomorrow to go back home, so I'll be leaving Denver.

Any advice as to where I should stop? I'm looking for places with lots of people in my age group (~19-23) with decent party/bar scenes and a friendly atmosphere. I'll be by myself, but that will definitely force me to be social and I hope to meet some cool people.

So far, I think I'd like to stop in Chicago on the way, but it's not an absolute requirement. Also, I was told that Lawrence, Kansas is awesome and worth a stop. I have up to 8 days to make the trip if I'm having a fantastic time and find some stuff to do, but otherwise I'll probably aim for 4 days.

And of course, if any of you guys are on my route I'd love to stop and hang out, and possibly play a little sc

So where the FUCK should I go?

Ann Arbor is cool but the rest of Michigan sucks. At least for me because I can't get into (most) bars. Ann Arbor is a fun town though, its very clean and safe and everyone is always down to have a good time. Also its cool because cops don't really care about green, as long as you're not flaunting it.

P.S. I know a lot of grad student's hang out at Dominick's which is only a block from the corner of Monroe and State. Don't really know if they'd be your crew, but its a typical grad student hangout.

Don't mean to derail your thread here, but just had to comment on one of the places you went to.

I went to salt lake city. There was an enormous amount of pollution. There was so much pollution I could not see so called "salt lake". I was disappointed. I was scared shortly after when I realized how motherfucking fast people like to go on the highway. We were too scared to slow down and stop amidst the traffic, so we sped right through and looked for somewhere else to stay the night.

Anyways, how did you enjoy it?

im still in denver, going to be leaving either today or tomorrow, give me some damn advice people!

and grobyc, salt lake city sucked. the only bar that had people in it was a gay bar, and we didn't realize we were in a gay bar until after about 40 minutes and 2 drinks in. "uh...dude.. theres a lot of gays in here. in fact... i cant find a single straight person... AHHH GAY BAR RUN"
