It'll kill worker lines much less quickly due to the lock on cooldown Less dps, but tanker. Good because battles in SC2 are too fast and it was very glass cannony. The lower dps also means things that heal like Batteries and Transfuse are more effective. Less volatile and less punishing, you have more time to react and micro on both sides. Weaker as a straight up fighting unit, better as a compliment to tank based mech Scales better into the lategame, making it less of a Bio opener unit, and instead allowing Mech players to reap more of the benefits Addresses Mech not having a strong enough lategame for the weak earlygame they have to go through Slightly stronger vs small numbers of early Stalkers, even a tiny improvement is a huge W for helping Mech open and take their 3rd more reliably vs blink stalkers Weaker vs ling bling sure, but you already have the option of adding hellions and WMs. This is great because it was dumb that Cyclones were so good vs small light units that you didn't really even need to add in Hellions/WMs. Cooldown on Lockon is just very satisfying, and encourages more fair opportunities for both sides to poke. Paired with the health increase, it allows for more opportunities to interact and reset interactions. Improved the game feel of the unit, before its normal attack felt very clunky and slow, making you rely on Lockon only. The tankier rework also means that repairing them in battle will result in more HP repaired per second. With good control and micro'ing better than the opponent, even if its dps is lower, it has more HP meaning you can get more Lockons per Cyclone before it dies. (Each time you Lock on you trade 1 hit from the opponent). So it still has a potential for high reward. Overall, compared to the last few patches, this seems like one of the most nuanced and well thought out changes/reworks!! | ||
