Universal design is usually good for everyone. Bigger font will help the few that need it, while the experience of others is unhindered or makes the experience better. Think about a incline ramp for people in wheelchairs, you may find yourself taking that rather than the stairs because it’s more pleasant to use. Also a 1 point font increase could happen and I don’t think I would notice or care.

I don’t mind the font size on desktop but the mobile site requires a lot of zooming in and out.

I think the poll is not statistically representative. Those for whom the font size is too small have surely overlooked the poll! :D

More info on screen = good
Eye strain = bad
Tough call, but I voted for the font being too small. Like another poster above me said though, a quick ctrl + mouse scroll is a very easy solution so I won't be sad either way

We are so used to the design of the website that it's no problem for most of the members.

I've "observed" new people trying to use tl.net and definitely larger font will be helpful to new users.

TL design was made when screen resolutions were much lower. With the increased pixel density all design elements became smaller, this is obvious.
So I think that just making fonts bigger is not good, design must be reworked too. And old timers will riot for sure.

I think it's fine, but I'm playing with the zoom levels and I think 110% has no detrimental impact on a 1920x1080 screen. You may want to evaluate 1600x900, but I think everything smaller should be ignored.

It's definitely easier on the eyes (20/20, young), but I read text all day at work, so eyes definitely do get tired.
With increasing font size, you might also want to consider widening the text pane by a corresponding amount to keep page formatting the same.

Changing the main-content style element to be around 900px looks about perfect to me with the increased zoom, with either 110% or 120% size.
