I think Inner Coven is the best Island map since Third World and hopefully won't be taken out after this season so it can be explored more.

Great mix of maps to encourage different playstyles, including standard play, but Inner Coven has been amazing. We actually got to see Devourers see a role in competitive play. (I thought their acid spores were permanent unless medics restored them... Still learning new things about the game thanks entirely to the strangeness of Inner Coven.)

I just watched all of the Inner Coven games and I wasn't impressed. Just like with Sparkle, the attempt to counteract the weakness of Zerg on Island maps (or faux Island maps with Inner Coven) just goes too far and makes them absurdly strong. The sample size is small and as it was played in the ro24 there are potentially larger skill gaps than later on, but the only ways to lose as Zerg seems to be either to build no combat units (beast) or to let marines kill your Guardians (Queen). I wonder if the neutral hidden turret is really necessary.

Of course, TvP is just as big of a mess as anything vZ.

Inner Coven turned out to be pretty okay actually.

I like that they brought Hitchhiker back. There are also a lot of new, fresh macro maps that are not super crazy, but have some interesting terrain shape to them (Escalade and Horizon Lunar Colony).

Overall I really like the map pool. Anything that is not stale FS/CB/Gladiator trio is good imo.

The d-web map is too weird. I don't think BW needs to obsess over new maps since the players have changed a lot, and BWR is changing builds, too. I wonder if current viewers even rememeber the old maps enough to be bored of them.

the maps are great! I play terran since BL times. It's all fixed, game balanced and maps are playable. Very good work from BLIZZARD!

Blizzard has nothing to do with the map pool. I'm pretty sure they haven't had BW map makers for like 15 years.

I personally love wonky maps as you see some bizarre stuff happening outside the norm. Inner Coven seems to be a good compromise between something as extreme as Sparkle and a Standard map.
