This year also saw the continued rise of Reynor who finally found success against top Koreans at the end of the year and gives substance to foreigner hopes that Serral doesn't have to be the lone pillar against Koreans moving forward. I think the gap is still very similar to last year, but maybe slightly closing. | ||

Given Starcraft's history as an esport, it makes sense to have separated the player bases into "South Koreans" and "everyone else" (aka foreigners). GvtW is a showmatch in the middle of Code S, ofc you wouldn't wanna show your gameplay there, you might wanna play even worse for mind game. Nevertheless, Special, Neeb, Scarlett, Reynor etc has shorten the gap. | ||
