Hi TL,
I've been admiring the TeamLiquid/oGs gear for some time now, but was sad to see that none of the gear being sported by the players of any of these teams is available to get as a gift or as a nerd purchase.
I can understand not making oGs team apparel available for purcahse, but it seems like TL is leaving a lot of money on the table by only having one light-blue t-shirt that no TL player in the GSL wears up for sale. To be honest, I also think it's not the most aesthetically pleasing. More importantly, though, I think it's a missed chance to promote e-sports and get fans even more invested in the action.
I would love if HuK's darker-blue Team Liquid shirt or some other gear was made available through the store, as it would be a way to support TL and the players. It feels right to wear a jersey when attending a basketball game, and the same feels true when you're staying up til 3:20 AM on a Thursday to catch a Code S match of GSL.
Is there any chance/indication that TL is improving its Store offerings anytime soon?

whats wrong with the winged pony
|
I love my winged pony but I'd buy the player shirt asap, loved those things.
I know it's not economical but I would love them if they had the players names on the back.
|
Honestly, I would buy several TL things:
1) Toque 2) Hoodie 3) Socks (YES!) 4) (Nicer) Shirt
|
I'd love a player shirt too. Looks so ballin.

I mean I think there is something to say for having the players where something a tad bit different then whats available in the store.
Doesnt it add a bit of prestige?
I think there is a plan for new shirts in the store. I don't think anything is confirmed though.

Now that you mentioned it. I want TL socks. haha.

A plush would be pretty cool.
Mug would be easy to produce.
Shirts with player names would sell like hot cakes.
Hot cakes would also be nice.

Personally I like it that at LANs you can seperate us, the community members from the actual team liquid by what shirt theyre wearing. So I'd rather have new TL shirts in the store that arent the players shirts. What happened out of that Shirt-designing contest ages ago anyways
This thread should probably go to Website Feedback, not to Starcraft 2 Forum.

I think one of the reasons that the dark blue jerseys is that at lan events, they need to stand out as a team. If 30 spectators at MLG were to wear the dark blue team jerseys, the actual team wouldn't stand out very well to someone who has not really seen what the players looked like before.
I think a few more designs and colors could surely be added to the store, but I don't know if offering the exact replicas is such a good idea. Time for a "Design a T-Shirt" contest maybe?

I will buy anything with TeamLiquid on it. True story.

Here's Heosat's response to shirt sales: Reddit AMA
Basically, they don't want to make too many shirts and just have it sit there.

moved to website feedback. Its on the laundry list - we have to fuel TSL with tigerblood first.

Crazy prediction:
When TL players get new shirts, the old shirt will be made available in the store.
For now, it makes very obvious sense why TL wouldn't want 1,000 noobs wearing a team shirt at a LAN.

I understand the concern, but it's not like shirts go bad right? ^_^ I imagine they'll get bought eventually even if way too many get ordered.
I'll buy most anything with TL on it. Best way to find local people into the SC scene IMO.

They could get around that problem if they make a 1-month offering for 100 shirts. If 100 people agree to take up the offer (having given their paypal/credit card information etc), then the transaction is completed. If less than 100 people take up the offer, then the transaction is cancelled and no one loses anything.

Has TL ever considered selling things other than StarCraft 2 on its store? I know its not sold by TL, its just through Amazon and TL gets a small kick back.
Especially when you browse the Tech Support section, people are always asking about what computer parts to buy, or what mechanical keyboards to buy and Amazon itself carries a lot of those products and has often quite competitive prices with the major computer parts companies. I know theres a wide selection of products but perhaps you can just feature a few Liquid player's computers and the parts used inside their computers, or just the most popular parts at the time (ie Sandy Bridge CPUs and such).

@Mr. Bitter: I'm not necessarily saying the team shirts should be available, but rather, a more appealing (and broad) selection than the one light-blue pony shirt they offer right now.
But in any case, glad to hear discussion are underway on the issue!

I'd like to see a TL pillow. Ever since I was watching GSL, and it was noticed that it sounded like the said Liquid.Pillow, instead of Liquid.Jinro, I thought it was an amazing idea. A little soft, plush pillow, with the TL horse on it. Then we could all act like HuK! :p
