Okay, I didn't have a ton to work with, AND some of them were pretty much impossible to make perfect with how small the letters were (even zoomed in at 1600%). Also, fOu and IM both had shield designs that I had to trace out in order to make transparent... And they look horrible. But I did my best, without having my tablet here to guide me. I can try to update these later, or some other people can work with them, but here's the transparent icons (can be put in the OP if you want):

It's an odd thing to balance. On one hand TL is a community site and it'd be cool to express our team favoritism, but on the other hand TL is also a team and it'd be a little tactless to come here and root for someone else :p

TL does define itself as a SC News and Community website before a programing team, therefore I don't think it would cause them any problem. As TL members, we are already kind of invested in TL and nothing stops us from encouraging a team in our signature. An image isn't that much different.

This idea is brilliant and with the recent GSTL totally legit.
The sc2-teamliquid community needs those!

Although TeamLiquid.net has a team I think it's just reasonable to be able to root for other pro-teams as well.
Having the right to positively root for Teamliquid comes with the right to be also able to negatively (-> rooting for another team) root for Teamliquid.

Hope Wolf's icons get implemented soon.

I tried my best, but I'm sure somebody else could do a lot better. Those JPG artifacts were kicking my ass haha...

Maybe TL could pull some strings and get a hold of some lossless logos

Edit: I liked the images listed in the first post more (seemed like less artifacts) and replaced my original cuts with ones from that instead. Hopefully they're a little cleaner

edit 2: also, gimp's gaussian blur seems to be really good at getting rid of artifacts

I'd love to see these added for the sake of the gstl; I think it'd be really neat to be able to see who everyone's supporting during the season and in the live report threads. Even if TL doesn't have enough to participate, some foreign teams have styles that inspire me, and thus I become a fan/supporter- for me that'd be slayers with alicia and boxer.

I think it would be neat if at the beginning of a major team league or tournament a notification to pick a team you support popped up under your profile like liquibet, and for the remainder of that tournament you proudly display your favorite team. Something along those lines would make it easy to add in foreign team icons and the such.

My only reservation is the root icon cause he creeps me out

I would love to see these changes, only for the fact that I never kept up with the BW pro scene and I'm a relatively new SC fan with SC2. Would definitely love to show my support for my favourite team :D
