if it was only to compensate for a few whiny children then it's not worth it. i dont think that was my argument at all though. stop being a whiny children fakesteve.

how much work would it be? copy buddy list and edit the script that shows the posts within each thread?

It's really only Stimey who's really whining to have this feature. I would highly doubt it would be used by any more than a few individuals. Besides myself, there are various others who object to this idea within this thread.

A good feature would be something that most people agree on.

I 2nd Stimeys request. If there are people, who piss ME off, then I don't wanna hear anything of THEIR says and consequently an ignore feature would be awesome. It is a personal thing!
I don't get the point why an ignore feature would be censorship. There is no way, that I censor anything simply by not listening to people. And what kind of harm should that feature do? I say none. If you wanna use it, then you can and enjoy this nice gimmick and if you don't, then it does not affect you, right?

To me it is not a question of the mods banning ppl - it would simply be a benefit to me personally and maybe PLENTY of other guys, not only a few.

this is easily the least read board ... you don't typically get 3 people requesting the same feature. i wonder why so many people who claim they would never use this feature feel that no one deserves to have it tho :/ (1) it wouldn't be a waste of time to make, judging by how many ppl want it (3 is a lot for this board, might even be more than 3 if you look back to the squelch thread that was linked). (2) those who used it would have some time saved by it, and it would add up, whether u realize it or not. (3) it's not censorship and (4) people could be held responsible for their own choices -- if they ignore too many people and make dumb posts because of it, treat them accordingly. let them risk it.

find me a thread where replying would be impossible if tfeign and amat's posts were hidden/reduced by default ;||

A forum is intended to be a public place. I think an ignore feature would lead to shit like this all the time:
