Hrm, I dont see any flying monkeys. Might be something weird with my phone.

Anyway, I think having an option for SC1 or SC2 icons would be neat - but probably alot of work. I like the nostalgia associated with the SC1 though.

This really needs to be bumped. I never played scbw and I can't tell what my icon is, although it kinda looks like a reaver. It would be great if an option to the profile was added to let you select which icons you preferred (scbw or sc2). I'm sure a lot of people would really like sc2 icons and the OP of this thread has a great list of icons.

Also I recommend using a higher quality version of the image and using offset parameters so that users only have to download a single asset.

I like the idea of just having the BW icons. It's something that sort of defines TeamLiquid for me, and it's a good visual reminder of this website's roots.

why dont we just remove all the things together?

im way over my head here but i think if this is going to be implemented .. its gonna create another divide on an already divided community ..

It's a really, really tough situation, because if you remove the BW icons then you alienate the BW players in a way. Also, it's cool to rank up- so having no icons would suck

. Personally, I think the best option, for the moment at least, is to keep the same icons- for those who don't know BW is still a big game, and an important part of our community. As well, as someone already said, it's a reminder of what started this whole site.

To those who don't understand what the icons mean, maybe you should look into the history of Starcraft and Teamliquid. Watch some BW, heck the OSL finals are coming up this weekend. This is a great opportunity to find out about Broodwar, I assure it's not a boring game!!

Definitely agree. Even if TL becomes 90% SC2, 10% BW or something, I'd be in favor of keeping the BW icons, if only because that's where the site began.

Why on earth would they just remove the BW icons? That's ridiculous. BW is still going strong, and while it is, there is absolutely no way the mods would remove the icons.

Hell, even if BW completely died, they'd probably keep the icons for nostalgic purposes.

Seriously, can you imagine the outcry if those icons were removed? It won't happen, so don't worry. =)

I'm all in favour of us being able to choose either SC2 or BW icons. Only problem is I'd have no idea which to choose. D:

(Oh and I have to disagree with Torte de Lini's idea of having subtitles under the icons, IMO that wouldn't look too flash. People can just figure out what the unusual ones look like on their own xD)
