English translation of a part of this video:
9:46 is when we start seeing Yellow's mom.
9:46 [mom] He didn’t see it again! He’s not paying attention!
9:56 [narrator] His mom’s mind is with him on the stage.
10:08 [mom] In the early days, I went to games with medication that calms you down, so I can give it to him. But he didn’t want it, so I took it, but even then I was nervous watching him. Even after medication! Nowadays I kinda don’t wanna go to the games, even when he has title matches. Even watching him on TV makes me nervous, so I get really anxious actually watching him live on the stage.
10:39 [narrator] Even with his mom’s support, Yellow’s game is difficult.
10:45 [mom] What’s going on?
10:50 [narrator] Yellow lost. So his mom’s mind.
11:00 [mom] How come he didn’t think of his Drones at his main base getting attacked! He’s been through that strategy before over and over.
[subtitle] How was it when he said he wanted to be a gamer?
[mom] I was worried a lot, him giving up college and all. He had a lot of excuses about not going to college; he hated studying. But even so I couldn’t even dream him becoming something like this.
11:28 [yellow] My mom said I should be kicked out of the house if I were to play games. [subtitle] How was it when your parents opposed you becoming a gamer?
[yellow] I wasn’t allowed to play games at home at all. So I went out and played in secret. There was this new PC café in my neighborhood, and I went there and that’s how I got to know StarCraft, and got really into it. So since then, I just spent all time at PC café.
11:49 [mom] He skipped all the after-school study sessions, and went PC café instead. He came home late and said he went to the study sessions, but how could I have known that he went to PC café instead?
12:00 [subtitle] Why did you continue even with all this opposition?
[Yellow] Before StarCraft, I’ve never had any strong passion of what I want to do. I was confident
12:11 [older brother] When he said he would move to the capital to play games, I didn’t feel good.
12:17 [mom] Even when he was into gaming, I really didn’t know what it was. I didn’t even know what was going on even when I watched it on TV. I just thought he would come back home after a while. So I told him, “Ok, I will give you one year to pursue gaming. Consider that going to college one year late.”
12:32 [Narrator] That one year he had to pursue gaming.
12:38 [Yellow] I moved to the capital and just slept on random storage places. I couldn’t eat. I don’t remember having meals, I just had food once a day, and even that it was bowl noodle. I lived like that for a year. I practiced a lot, thinking only winning games can get me out of this.
13:01 [mom] I was saddened and heart-broken. If I were there supporting him, like preparing meals and stuff, I would not have as heart-broken. But he moved far away, so I didn’t know if he was eating well or whatever.
13:20 [narrator] 19 year old. The age when you eat a lot. At that age he moved out of his house and maintained poor life style of eating bowl noodle only, just to pursue game. What was it that carried him on? What is it that make people crazed about StarCraft?
13:48 [fan] Even though I might not know how to play, watching gamers play out is exciting. So I danced when he wins!
[another fan] I like action movies. So watching Yellow storming his opponent-that’s my style!
