BackHo

+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Jaedong] +

Jaedong: "It is now May so everything will start working out well."
"I practiced very hard in April but strangely, I lost."

Hwaseung's "The Destroyer" (Z)Jaedong defeated (Z)Luxury in the first set of the match against KTF, held on the 4th of May at the MunRaeDong LOOX Hero Center.

The following is the interview with Jaedong.

- Today's match was important, and you helped to achieve a perfect 3:0.
▲ Our team wasn't doing so good in Round 4, so I am glad that we won such an important match with perfect score. But we lost many matches before today, so I don't really feel that happy (laughs).

- Did you know that your opponent killed his own Zerglings?
▲ I did not know at first. There are a few players who play like that, and when I went to destroy the neutral buildings, I saw some zergling blood so I quickly realised what had happened. That was how I knew that I would be able to damage if I attack with my lings.

- There was a lot of attention in your match as it was the fight between the Winner of both OSL and MSL leagues and the MSL winner.
▲ The fact that I am playing on Battle Royal gives me confidence. I am actually most confident in my ZvZ skills, but I lost so disappointingly in my previous game (against Hyvaa), and I still feel rather disappointed. I was sure I was going to win, and from now on, for my future matches on Battle Royal, I do not have any more worries.

- Due to Hiya defeating Flash, you are ahead of Flash in terms of score by 1 win.
▲ I did not think much about the 'Highest Number of Wins' position, but I think it is rather a good thing that (T)Flash, my competitor, was defeated. However, the true battle will begin in Round 5, so I'm focusing on what is in front of me at the moment.

- Every April, you show signs of slumping. What do you think is the reason for this?
▲ I also don't know. Strangely enough, every April I perform poorly. I play more and practiced more than in March, but somehow I still lose. This April, I practiced a lot but I still lost somehow. So I was very frustrated. And now that it's May, I won my game, so I am strangely confident once again (laughs). Anyway, April has passed, so I guess everything will work out well from now on.

- You suffered a shocking loss to SKTelecom.
▲ I think that my sense of responsibility is working against me without me knowing. I am trying to keep that under control and overcome it. I think that it will be important for me in the future to overcome such feelings.

- Your next opponents are the Air Force ACE.
▲ I have felt that they've upgraded tremendously in the past few weeks. I think we must never let out guard down, and if we are to continue winning games, then ACE is a team we have to defeat. If we practice as much as how we prepared for today's games, then I believe we will definitely win. We want to go on a winning streak from now on.

- Any final words?
▲ It is a good start for me since I won my first game in May. Many fans and I were worried as they watched my performance in April. I will continue to practice hard and I believe the only thing left that I have to do is to do well (in games). I hope everyone can be a great support for me so that I can return to my former self as soon as possible.

+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Hiya] +

Hiya: "We'll have to win 3-0 two more times to feel better."
"I will do my best so as not to be called "Boggly"."

Hwaseung's (T)HiyA played strategically to defeat (T)Flash, who is one of the few aiming for the title "Highest Number of Wins".

The following is the interview with Hiya.

- Your team achieved a perfect 3:0 victory.
▲ Regardless of whether we win or lose, we want our games to end in 3:0s. We won 0:3 four times, so we have to win 3:0 at least twice to feel better.

- You went for proxy rax to offensive bunkering.
▲ If Flash had not built his supply depot (at that position) the game would have ended there. Flash responded well after seeing my strategy with his supply depot so I did not do a lot of damage. But because of (my play), the game swung to my favor, and I was able to win with more ease.

- Any reason for choosing such a strategy?
▲ Depending on the spawning locations, the game can turn out to be advantageous or disadvantageous for you, but rather than that reason, I wanted to try something different. During the countdown (of the game), I prayed that I can scout his main with my first try, and I think the Heavens helped me (laughs).

- Because you defeated Flash, Jaedong is now 1-win ahead of Flash's score.
▲ I don't know if Jaedong is interested in that, but our team comes first. I don't really care if Jaedong gets best record or not (laughs). But if the player with the highest wins is in our team, then he'll be of great support.

- You are 1 win away from achieving 30 wins.
▲ My target from the start of the season was 30 wins. But I performed too well in Winner's League, I felt that I had set my targets too early. I am currently doing well, but there were not many matches that I won fully satisfied, so I will continue to work hard to win more games. Deep in my heart, I want to achieve 40 wins, but if I set my target too high, I might feel regretful later on, so I'm currently at a loss (laughs).

- If you lost today, your team would have given up your first rank seat to SKTelecom.
▲ Ever since we lost 0:3 to Woongjin Stars, we practiced hard. We practiced for every game without thinking about our losses but strangely they did not turn out so well. We came prepared, once again not thinking about whether we will lose or not. I knew that if Jaedong won the first set and I could scout Flash's main at one shot, then we would win 3:0.

- Your next match is against Air Force ACE.
▲ I practiced with Anytime recently and he played really well. His skill remains the same from when he was in our team. ACE's strategies are really good, so I am continue to work hard as I am now and make sure that we win.

- Any final words?
▲ The build I used was taught to me by WeMade FOX's Mind as we practiced. I am thankful to Mind for telling me this build. Also, my record in Round 4 is 3-3, and I heard that I was becoming 'a bubble', so I will win the rest of my games and not be a 'Boggly'. (T/L note: Bubble as in the dot-com bubble, etc).

+ Show Spoiler [Interview with BackHo] +

BackHo: "I am happy to be part of today's win."
"My condition is better than ever."

(P)BackHo ended his 7 game losing streak and helped seal his team's victory after defeating (Z)HoeJJa in the 3rd set in their game against KTF.

The following is the interview with BackHo.

- Your thoughts on personally finishing up and winning 3:0.
▲ When we lost 0:3 these few days, I was part of it. If only I had gotten one win, we could have won the game, and because our team won 3:0 and I was a part of it, I am even more happy.

- You ended your 7 game losing streak in Proleague.
▲ I don't have a lot of wins, but at least I ended my losing streak so I feel glad. It has been over 5 months since I won in Proleague, and my win today is my first win of the year in Proleague. It feels different since it's my first win in such a long time. Using today's game as a catalyst, I'll work hard and start winning more games, as I have less wins compared to other players.

- You had a large army but still avoided engagements and dragged the game into a macro game.
▲ Hoejja was not in a situation where he could have easily attacked as he pleased, and it was the situation I wanted. There were many times I attacked too aggressively and lost games I could have won, so this time I only pressured him and played safe, and the game progressed smoothly into a macro game.

- When did you feel that you won the game?
▲ It was when Hoejja attacked my 11 o clock expo while I destroyed his 6 o clock hatchery.

- BackHo, how's your back?
▲ It has gotten much better. I continue to do stretches, and I plan to once again get treatment at my house once I return to my dorm. After my recovery I've been getting treatment every week. My body's condition is better than before, and it has not gotten any worse. I still feel some pain consistently, but because of my back, I've been doing a lot of exercising and maintenance, and it has helped me with my recovery.

- Do you think you will be able to play more often in the future?
▲ If I lost today then I might have had to give up my future playing opportunities to (P)Young or (P)Spear, so it was an important game for me. I won today so I think I'll be able to play more often in the future.

- Any final words?
▲ I am thankful to everyone who helped me with practice. I was so stressed and had lack of confidence that even up til a few days ago, if I were to play 10 times on this map, I would lost 9 times. However, (Z)Jaedong and (Z)ggaemo helped with a lot with practice. I feel that I won because of them, and hence I am even more thankful towards them.(T/L note: No teamliquid?)

LOL I saw '병력' (Army/units) as '배랙‘ (Barracks).

Thanks.

@shaozu:
Dunno, didn't watch the game. They did mention the bunker in the question -

Anytime is now ACE's, forever.

Actually, all the good ACE players should remain there permanently. It fits their image somehow.

In Korea, the sound you make when something bubbles, like water boiling and bubbling, is "boggle boggle". Hence, "boggly".

Hahaha I like how you only bolded 'back' in Backho.
Ah BackHo - happy that he was able to win. I still kinda lol-ed at the BackHo, how is your back question. I wonder how he came up with that nickname anyway...

I purposely phrased the question that way

Been thinking of ways to make interviews more interesting to read such as by adding pics and rephrasing questions/answers to make them seem funny without losing the original meaning or tone.
