Just recently I've been heavily into Classical music - not really knowing which piece is what but does anyone recommend some great pieces that is just pure beautiful to hear?
Huge list would be awesome and where I can download it <_<

My favourite violin piece by far: all 3 movements of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.

cool. I will check this thread too.
"Oh no, we've drawn Judge Schneider" "Is that bad?" "Well, he's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog" "You did?" "Yeah...if you replace the word *kinda* with *repeatedly*...and the word *dog* with son"

I recommend Mike Oldfield. Hes the guy who did the Tubular Bells song thats well-known as the theme from The Exorcist. Hes not strictly classical, but he is a composer, and his work is largely instrumental. In fact, his latest album (his 24th studio release, I think) uses a symphony.

Aurora, from his album Music of the Spheres
Moonlight Shadow

Honestly, it's something you can Google and just search on Youtube or a digital music service like Ruckus/Cdigix. There's so many difference choices and it's tough to know what you're into until you start listening. My favorites are Debussy, Grieg and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Hmm, I just took the songs from Top 100 Classical Masterpieces (think that's how it's translated), put it into random selections, and followed up on composers I thought sounded good. Vivaldi's Mandoline Concerto and Alfven's Swedish Rhapsody are two that I remember especially well.
Trust in Bayes.

Tomaso Albinoni's Adagio in G minor, strings and organ is my all time favorite, maybe because I'm such an emo. But just google some big names and you probably wont be disappointed. Bach, Mozart (though he is imo overrated), Beethoven, Vivaldi etc. Now that I think of it, just listen to Monty Python's Decomposing Composers, that song mention's most names that are worthy of mention.

Edit: Also, violin solo from Shindler's List, as well as Kanon D-dur (which Shiroh Sagisu performed for the end credits for Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death). Favorite Bach is Jesus Bleibet Meine Freunde (also in NGE ) dunno how what the correct translation is.

Liszt has always been the composer which is my greatest interest. The technical virtuosity of his pieces is absolutely astounding. I suppose his Transcendental Etude No.5 is a place to start if you're curious.

Dvorak - New World Symphony(all 4 movements are excellent but number four is the one most people associate with the name)
Bach- Air in G
Holst- Jupiter the Bringer of Jollity
Holst- Mars, the Bringer of War

Alfred Reed - Armenian Dances mov't 1. (For contemporary composed music)
David Holsinger - Abram's Pursuit(see above)
F.A. Guilmant - Morceau Symphonique

This piece is so great! And Jascha Heifetz is one of the greatest violinists ever.
