Some help with the tracker please

snowylee Sweden19 Posts November 27 2006 20:36 GMT #1 I tried to search for an answer but I didnt come up with anything, maybe it was me searching lousy.. Anyway... When I try to download something all I get when clicking the "Click here to download this torrent" is a php file "download.php" to be precise, and.. yeah well I cant download anything with that one since all I can do with it is saving it to my hard drive

alpskomleko Slovenia950 Posts November 27 2006 20:39 GMT #2 I have the exactly same problem. It worked, however, prior to my reinstall of Win XP. What I did was to go to #teamliquid on mIRC and ask for someone to download and DCC send me the torrent file..

testpat United States565 Posts November 27 2006 20:54 GMT #3 The problem may stem from firefox not renaming the files like Internet Explorer does. You can try 1) Use IE rather than firefox 2) Save the download.php file to disk, and Open the download.php file with your torrent program, it will recognize it. You may have to rename the file to a .torrent extension. Its also possible that when you save the torrent file to disk, or directly load it into your torrent program, that the last 20 or so bytes are not read. You'll know this because you'll get an "invalid" torrent" of some sort. If this happens, just ask someone to send you the torrent file.

snowylee Sweden19 Posts November 27 2006 21:07 GMT #4 Thanks for the feedback guys. And for the record Im always using IE (im lazy ) so that wasnt the case here . And I actually hadnt tried to open the download.php file with my torrentprogram, so I tried it and it worked! So, many thanks
