So what's going on then?
As a fun event for you guys before we head into Gen VI with Pokemon XY, I am going to be hosting the first TL LoL Pokemon Gym Challenge. The premise is simple. I'm a Gym Leader, and you get to challenge me.
So what are the prizes then? A gym badge?
You get to put something in your profile that says you beat the Gym Challenge #1 and you get bragging rights in Off-Topic.

I will also randomly select several winners to receive a flawless RNG'd Eevee to you so when Pokemon Bank is activated in December, you will have yourself a perfect Eevee to use in Pokemon XY to turn into whatever you want (Sylveon/Nymphia maybe?).
Flawless? What's that?
Perfect stats. 30-31 IVs in everything with Hidden Power Ice Power 70. Timid nature.
WOW. And if can beat you, I could receive that flawless perfect Eevee??
Yup. (Disclaimer: If my Wifi breaks there may be some delays in giving them out.)
Alright then. So what do I need to beat?
I will be using a team of 2 to 3 Pokemon, which will be around lvl 20.

Hold up! There's a reason I'm using this team instead crushing your face with my flawless lvl 100 monsters. Because not everyone has completed the post game or had time to breed, train or come up with a super awesome team, I've decided to make this a challenge anyone can take part in. Even if you've just started playing Pokemon BW or BW2, it's very quick to get to the lvl 20 cap so this challenge is still possible for you! (I will be about the same level as the 3rd Gym Leader, Burgh.)
Ok, fair enough. So what are the rules then?
- You're allowed to use any Pokemon that's level 25 or below. I'll allow a little bit of leeway if you're still playing along and have someone that's maybe a little bit over that you want to use.
- No Legendaries/Ubers/Hacked stuff. (Like you have a lvl 25 Garchomp to begin with. And that lvl 100 shiny Giratina from Gamestop is definitely not ok!)
- You can use up to 6 Pokemon even though I will not be using 6 Pokemon.
- No silly Smeagle Spore-Shuffling, Moody abuse, Evasion nonsense or other stupid shit. This is supposed to be a fun event for people so don't waste my time.
- If you've challenged me, don't go around telling other people what my team is to keep this fun for others. (I reserve the right to ban buzzkills.)
- We'll be playing on Gen V (Pokemon BW or BW2)
- Everything else is fine so have fun!
How hard is your challenge going to be then?

But you were able to beat Whitney and continue on your journey, right? Fret not, I've been running damage calculations to make sure I'm not going to just destroy everything and to make sure it's fair. Consider it as 'challenging but doable'. It also fits in appropriately as a "3rd Gym" level of challenge!
I think I can do it! So how do I sign up then?
PM me with the subject line "TL LoL Gym Challenge #1 Signup" and give me your Pal Pad Code for BW or BW2 as well as how far into the game you are. You need to have been a TL user for some time and I will give priority to TL LoL regulars, TL Staff or TL+ Members if there are too many people signing up.
What are the sign up deadlines and when will matches be held?
Sign-up deadline will be Saturday 12th October. You can arrange a match any time after I've PM'd you back confirming your entry until Sunday 20th October.
So does the #1 mean there will be more events in the future?
Depending on how successful this is, I might run future events for the subforum.
If I want to follow the challenge, how can I do so?
I will be uploading the Battle Replay of each match to YouTube (if I can figure out how to do it).

If you are currently in a Nuzlocke run, losing Pokemon to Moonbear's gym counts as losing them in your Nuzlocke run.

I know absolutely nothing about competitive Pokemon, and know absolutely nothing about ANY pokemon beyond the first 150.
My brother had Gold so maybe I could name some of the next 100.
I mean....if people want me to cast shit for the hilarity of it (like when Husky plays League for example) then yeah by all means, but otherwise I'm pretty sure you'd want someone a little more knowledgeable.
Also I'm not even sure the logistics of how you'd cast something like that and have me be a 3rd party observer.

edit 2: There should be a wall of fame (like that statue in front of every gym) as well as a wall of deceased pokemon caused by this event. XD

The problem with casting it is that it kind of ruins the idea of MB wanting to keep it secret from future challengers what he's running.

MB PMed me with a solution to that---essentially I can release the casted matches little by little after they're either all done or a bunch of them are done. Either that or I'll cast them all as a block and do just one long 'episode.' Not that it would be all that long. Obviously we wouldn't get live casting with this kind of thing, but I don't think viewership would be particularly high enough to warrant that anyway.
Again all of this hinges on what people want exactly. I can imagine someone like Yango wouldn't want me touching Pokemon with a 10-foot pole considering my knowledge level, and that's fine.

What's the deadline on this..?
I'll have to go and find or breed a bunch of new Pokemon, then level them, and such but X/Y comes out on Saturday and I'm trying to spend the weekend playing X/Y there's no way I can spend time in BW today and tomorrow grinding this team.
haha I'm idiot and can't read nevermind, doubt I'll be able to do this since once X/Y comes out I'll be grinding that but if you do X/Y challenges I'd be game.
