LANified! invites you to our next great event, LANified! 14: Phoenix Rising. This event is a two day LAN party, consisting of casual gaming, tournaments, file sharing, on-site concession and plenty of prizes. The event runs from Saturday 10am Jun 1st 2013 to Sunday 6pm Jun 2nd 2013 in Calgary Alberta Canada.

We will be running the following tournaments:

Team Fortress 2 3v3 KotH: Rules and Format
Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm 1v1: Rules and Format

And the following mini-tournaments:

Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm 8-Player FFA: Rules and Format
Counter-Strike: Global-Offensive 10-Player Arms Race FFA: Rules and Format
Minecraft: Diamond Dash FFA: Rules and Format

But what is a LAN party?

LAN parties are gaming events where people bring their computers (desktops or laptops) to a designated location and connect them all in one network. Our event will also have a console tournament on-site in addition to computer space.

Okay, that sounds interesting, why should I haul my rig to such an event?

It is true, it can sometimes be a pain to move your computer, but there are great things going on at LAN parties. There will be plenty of other people there who love gaming and want to play games with you. You'll be able to discover games you haven''t seen before, form teams to compete in tournaments and win cash, stay up late playing crazy mods together, swap files at blazing gigabit speeds and so much more. Our LAN parties offer a continual event where you get to come and have a lot of fun with other gamers, you might even make some friends.

You sold me, I want to go, what do I need to know?

If you plan to attend our event we recommend you head to the event page and sign up. You make an account (or use one if you already have one), then on the event page hit the sign-up button once you've logged in. If you are absolutely certain you are attending we highly recommend you prepay. Once you sign up, go back to the event page, then hit prepay, it's in the same spot, the rest should be a breeze. Prepaying guarantees you a seat and is more affordable than our at the door price.

For full details of our coming event, head to the Event Details.

LANified! runs public services for people to use. We invite you to use them as you see fit. Primarily, we welcome you to come use our mumble server (voice.lanified.com default port). It's a fully public server, so come use it as you see fit, and there's plenty of room to go around. We use it all the time, and so do many others. If you want a channel added, just ask. Mumble is a great VoIP tool, with the lowest latency of all the VoIP tools, plus supports Windows/Mac/Linux. If you aren't using Mumble to communicate with your gaming comrades, maybe now is the time to change that. If you don't have Mumble installed, head to: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/

If you have any questions, feel free to post here, or contact us on our own forum or on our facebook page.

Bo1 seems really dumb.. Do Bo3s until finals and Bo5 in finals at the very least. It's way to easy to get cheesed out in a bo1. It's a really dumb format if you keep it..

Our coming event is one and a half months away, but that doesn't mean we're asleep at the wheel!

We have just adjusted our Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm 1v1 tournament to be better suited for proper competition. The changes are as follows:
- Stage 2 matches are now bo3 (was bo1) except finals
- The finals match is now bo5 (was bo3)

While these changes may seem minor at first glance, they lend themselves to more fair competition. We also had to ensure that we could employ these changes without adversely affecting our scheduling.

We have a great event coming up. Plenty of gaming going on; Starcraft 2 and otherwise! If you haven't checked out all the details, head to: http://www.lanified.com/events/go/11/3

Some games are just too addictive. After some of our staff finally pried themselves from Game Dev Tycoon's deathly grasp we realized: holy crap we have another event in a month!

So what does that mean? Well, for those who attended our previous event ( http://www.lanified.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=84123 ) it will be just as awesome as that, but this time with some great Minecraft stuff! For those who haven't attended one of our events just yet, maybe you should check out that link I just posted (it's people giving us feedback about the last event).

So yeah, our event is coming up, there's lots going on, and you should check it out!

For full details, to sign-up and prepay head to: http://www.lanified.com/events/go/11/3

If you want to check out sweet shots from our last event head to: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.638400952853663.1073741825.114122358614861&type=3

So what are you waiting for? There's so much gaming to do!

There are many ways to promote each event. One of the more creative ways we promote is through our poster designs. Well we just had the design for our coming event, LANified! 14: Phoenix Rising, completed!

It's a graphically rich design, meant for Legal format (14"wide by 8.5" tall), to check it out head to: http://www.lanified.com/posters/LANified!_14_Phoenix_Rising.pdf

If you want to help spread the word about this coming event, feel free to print copies off and pass it around! If you don't have legal paper, 8.5x11 still works mostly.

Recently someone planning to attend our coming event asked me about our concession. They wondered, is it just snacks that are served there? I was quite taken back by their question, mostly because our concession is so much more than that. At our events the concession serves hot meals. Not just any hot meals mind you, meals so delicious some of our staff members say they rival the best in our fair city, Calgary! But wait, there's more! While the meals are absolutely fabulous, they are reasonably priced and get delivered to your seat! Some examples of the menu from our past event include: $5 for TWO grilled cheese sandwiches with 3 cheeses, $7 for Bacon Cheeseburger and $5 for two beef tacos! Not only that, but all the meals are prepared and served by a professional chef!

The menu for our coming event is not yet known, but we believe you'll find it will hit the spot, both in your hunger and your wallet. What more could you want? Gaming, convenient food, lots of fellow gamers, tournaments. You pretty much have to attend (there's only so many seats after all).

We would like to take this time to thank one of our long-standing sponsors, TrendNET. They have supported quite a few of our events and continue to stand by us! To help show our gratitude we would like to ask that every person that appreciates their support of our great events show that appreciation with some simple social media support. To be specific we would like you to:

1) Like their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TRENDnet

2) Like the post on their wall about them sponsoring us (no direct link, but it's at the top of their page)

These simple tasks that we ask of you may not seem that involved, but they are important. If you use facebook please show us and them your support.

Additionally you can follow LANified! on facebook at http://facebook.lanified.com

Quite a few people are going to read this message, probably a lot more than the capacity for our next event (58 attendees). As such, we really would like you to answer one simple question: Why aren't you attending our next event?

We put a lot of effort into our events, and it shows with the feedback people give. But at the end of the day, our events don't happen if nobody attends. So it makes us scratch our head, why exactly aren't you attending? We really want to know, so please just tell us and we'll do what we can about it. There are many ways you can tell us, but if you want to tell us privately feel free to send an email to bloodyiron .at lanified dot. com.

On that note we'd like to announce a new incentive to prepaying. If we sell all available seats before prepay closes, we will DOUBLE the cash prizing for all main tournaments! Anyone that prepays counts, even if they're not entering a tournament.

Hope to see you there!

Yikes our event is only a week away! Not only that, but 70% of our capacity has signed up and prepay is closing in two days!

If you're thinking of attending our coming event but you're still undecided, how about you check out what people have said about our past events:

  • LANified! 13: Feedback
  • LANified! 11: Feedback
  • LANified! 10: Feedback
  • LANified! 9: Feedback

So to secure your seat (and save money!) at our event with plenty of fun gaming, delicious food, prizes and file sharing... er I mean legitimate network usage, then you simply must prepay! But if that's not an option for you and you plan to pay at the door please at least sign up.

Seats will sell fast, to sign up and prepay head to: http://www.lanified.com/events/go/11/3

do you have to be a participant in the tournament to be attending?

No. Tournaments are optional, but included. Not everyone enters tournaments, plenty of casual gaming going on.

Fellow Gamers,

It is with much regret that we LANified! must cancel our coming event (LANified! 14) this weekend (June 1-2 2013). I'm sure you want to know why. It's simple. We had 10 prepays and that isn't anywhere near to covering our costs.

We know many people have many different reasons for not prepaying. Having so few prepays really takes wind out of our sails. We work really hard for each and every one of our events and to have to do this is never easy for us. However, it must be done.

By the time you read this we will have fully refunded everyone who prepaid. Please verify for us that you have received your refund and if you have not contact us immediately at bloodyiron .at. lanified dot com.

We hope that you will attend our next event which will be in Q3 2013. We plan to announce the details in the near future.

In the mean time, if you want to keep in touch with us you can follow is on facebook ( http://facebook.lanified.com ) or come game with us on mumble ( voice.lanified.com default port).

We run these events for you the gamer. If people don't come, they don't happen.
