If you meet my condition, then be it as it may, follow my ideals. Philosophically this idea is predicated upon the need for the lamb to feel like the lion. However, the lamb is not the lion. It cannot lead, it can only baa. It is helpless without the guidance of the shepherd. However, the shepherd is not all knowing. Sometimes there is the one who cries wolf. Perhaps there may be many wolf-criers amongst the herd. In the presence of one cry, the sheep will follow the prescribed path to safety. The "wolf" may be slain, only for the shepherd to discover that it was his dog that was killed. The loyal, trusting dog, murdered by the will of the sheep. But, are the sheep responsible, or is it the crier? Every now and then, along comes the rat. We have one in our presence already. The rat gnaws and gnaws, feeding away all while the shepherd is tending his flock, heeding or ignoring the many cries of wolves. Eventually, the rat brings his friends, swarming in on the poor sheep. The plague spreads, and soon it is man, woman, child, lamb, sheep, dog, cat, and yes, even wolf, that cannot move. It is only creeping death that appears, egged on by the fires of disease. I have found the rat. The rat is the liar and the cheat, the devourer of souls. The rat is the impostor. The broth is stewing. | ||
