Your first ever Ro8 appearance. Tell us how you feel about getting this far.
DRG picking me during the group nominations really spurred me on to practice really hard. Thanks to that, I think that's why I was able to advance.
Did you expect to advance out of your group as first place?
I did not expect this at all. Even if I did make it to the quarter finals, I expected to advance out of my group as second. I think I got lucky. DRG and Curious are really good players and all but PvZ is just so difficult that I honestly didn't expect to advance out of my group this easily.
So if PvZ is so difficult, how did you prepare for it?
I asked FXOTear to teach me the strategy that he uses on Daybreak. I was able to learn that strategy for myself by watching his replays. Thanks to those, I learned a lot and I was able to win my match today. I had a lot of strategies prepared for my Ro32 matches but I ended up losing way too easily and never got to use them. I think I was able to make up for that performance with my results today.
You were able to harass DRG pretty severely with your DT play in game two and yet he still made a comeback and forced you to take a loss. What happened?
Our strategies got crossed over too much. After my DT harass, I was planning on hitting with seven warp gate blink stalkers. My DT harass went well but then everything else just went downhill after that.
In the winners' round, you started off your match with a loss in game one.
For game one, I opted not to scout and to just fast expand. But then I lost too many probes to just three lings. Curious did a lot of damage to me so I fully expected him to transition out feeling comfortable, and I wanted to expose that by preparing a big attack. But then when I got there, he had an army ready for me. The game did not play out the way I expected it to so I ended up losing.
With your Ro8 placement, you're also secured your Code S spot for next season. How far do you think you can make it this season?
Ever since my first match in the Ro32, I've had this feeling that I could make it all the way to the Ro8. Since I was able to achieve my initial goal, it's time to throw away all my thoughts from the past and focus at what's ahead of me now.
Who would you like to face in the Ro8?
I would like to face Hack or YoDa. That's because I am confident in my PvTs.
You also have WCS finals ahead of you. Do you know your group yet?
I got really angry when I saw who was in my group. I hate PvZ and yet I was placed with three Zergs. But anyways, it is what it is so I am just going to have to prepare that much harder and win.
What are your goals for the WCS finals?
The goal is to of course grab the championship. But in order to achieve that I'm going to have to plan out a lot of strategies and thoroughly prepare for my matches. For now, my first and foremost is to get out of my ridiculous Ro32 group.
Anything else you would like to say?
Tear helping me was really big. I really want to thank him for that. I also want to thank everyone who came out to cheer for me today. Also, a GOMtv audience member gave me some 빼빼로 (Peppero) today so I want to thank him for that. (In Korea, yesterday was a special day called Peppero day). I get to go to China for the WCS finals and I want to ask that everyone else who will be going with me to take care of themselves and have a safe trip there and back. Lastly, I want to thank our sponsor Tt eSports.

Ever Since the 2011 Pepsi GSL August, this is your first Ro8 appearance. Tell us how you feel about advancing.
I made it to the Ro8 twice last year so this year I was just really anticipating getting a championship. My matches did not go as well as I wanted them to today but I'm glad everything worked out for me so well in the end so I am relieved.
With your Ro8 placement, you've secured your spot for next season's Code S.
I'm not necessarily all the glad about securing my spot for next season. I am more thrilled about the fact that now I can aim for the semi finals. Getting to Code S is not really that much of a threat to me since there's always the Up/Downs.
How did you prepare for your matches today after the Ro16 group nominations?
I put a lot of priority on my TvZs. I didn't get a lot of chances to prepare for my TvZs since my Ro32 matches were mostly TvPs. I don't know if I over prepared for my TvZs or what but I have a headache right now.
Why do you think you lost your first match against Curious?
I was shaken a lot. I let the Zerg get way too economically stabilized and then I just couldn't handle the brood lord/infestor composition. And then once you take care of the brood lords, you have no answer for ultralisks. It's a dilemma.
You met Curious again in the finals match and attempted a bunker rush. It seemed like it was going to get blocked by his spine crawler, but what was going through your mind?
I knew I had won once I started fighting with my three marines. I think I would have won even if he hadn't moved his spine crawler. I think I just won the mind game in general. I saw what location he was at on Entombed Valley so I decided to go for a bunker rush.
You've overcome your own personal record. Now you have a chance to set entirely new records from here on out.
MMA hyung once told me that you have to play as if you're aiming for the championship right as you get to the Ro16. I decided to play with that kind of mentality and it worked out well for me. If I can get through the Ro8, I think the championship will also be a possibility for me.
Anything else you would like to say?
First off, I want to thank MMA hyung. I also want to thank Heart hyung since the build order he recommended to me ended up working well and I was able to win because of that. I had to face a lot of Zergs today so rather than say it was my skill, Miya hyung taught me a lot of things so he was the reason I got through. I want to pay back those three hyungs with some delicious meals for helping me.
