If a townie is ever split 50/50 on something and there is not much context to go on, he can rely on the "mafia dont shoot each other" technique. Lynch is town KP, so utilizing it on someone that is already going to die is very bad use of it. Lynching anyone else or waiting to assess the inactive/tempbanned player is always the right choice. It's not even about information.

Anyone who votes grush at this point in time without a reasonable case on his previous posts is anti-town (VE). If he posts bad everygame, then at least its a control.

One thing I noticed, between the spam, is a hell of a lot of role discussion, talk about kp, etc. I think everyone has missed a very important point in all this. Short of everyone claiming what role they created (Which might be useful, but a great way for scum to fuck with us), we have to use terms that everyone else will understand. Once we get through a round of Night actions, (assuming decon\greymist use the ability names) we'd be able to refer to specifics.

I didn't really mean calling roles different names just because of PTP. I'm perfectly fine calling KP role vig, protect role medic and so on. I'm talking about roles that would never be in a normal game of mafia and thus don't have a standard name. I'm pretty the role I created doesn't fit into any normal mafia role and I'm sure there a lot of other cases like that.

As for role calling I think it's a terrible idea, especially in PTP because you can make up a fake role for yourself just as easily as the role you created for someone else.

I do agree with you that things should become clearer after night 1 because we will at least get some info on the roles that are in play.

But how do your thoughts on roles and PTP mechanics help us catch scum?

It doesn't really, I'm just pointing out a big missing piece in all the role talk so far. Honestly I don't think role talk day 1 will be helpful in this set up.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this (I have to reread some of what I missed) but I saw this and figured it has to be pointed out.

Unfortunately it's Drazerk, so to be completely honest my read of Drazerk doesn't change here.

I'm an exception to my own rule because at some point I need to be taken down for the good of the town

So if it's not going to be helpful why is he spending his time pointing that out instead of trying to find scum?

In addition, note his vague language, his meek attitude, and his overall "hide and say a few noncontroversial things and hope no one notices me" style. All of these things are great ways for scum to blend in.

Meh, allinson seemed pretty obvious not to go for him. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a decent portion of the scum team not voting him. Dirk's alignment would be pretty enlightening.

If I could shed some light on this? I'm not meowth (nor did I make the role), but since it was a normal type move, VE has to be a Rock type if he's telling the truth, which I think he is. There are about 10 rock types, so unless VE is multi-typed, I think it's fairly obvious for mafia to figure out that he is probably a Vet. If he was a ghost type, I'd imagine the ability would have never worked.

In the future, if you are told a hit on you is super-effective or not, you should think about saying it publicly. If a mafia member picked a rock-type's role, he probably knows what VE does. That's my stab at it.

I think most people would tend to give abilities based on typing and flavor. That was kinda the point to the "same-type-attack-bonus" (STAB) mechanic, so that the roles would be more evenly distributed.

I missed when VE said that wasn't what he meant. Guess that means the ability itself wasn't enough to kill him?
