Interview with MajOr

Congrats on qualifying for TSL4!
TY.
You previously came only one game away from the final 32, but lost to Welmu. Were you afraid you wouldn't qualify then?
A little bit, especially after the fact that I couldn’t play any Europe qualifiers except the last one where unfortunately I had to forfeit since my computer keep rebooting by itself.
Of course, you were previously playing from KR, but recently came back to Mexico for the WCS. Did that trip save you for TSL4?
The WCS in Mexico are in 1 month actually but the qualifiers are offline for 3 biggest cities in Mexico – Guadalajara, Mexico, Monterrey and the last one was Guadalajara that I won last weekend. It probably did, it's too hard I'm sure I woulda been able to win points but Korean qualifiers are really hard.
You've been practicing for a long time in Korea since we last saw you. How has it improved your play?
It improved it a lot I feel, even though not to the point I wanted, because I was stuck in GOM house, playing only ladder, and practicing with some TSL members and some from IM but that’s about it.
Compared to other foreigners, where would you place yourself? Not everyone can get GM on the Korea server...
Honestly I don’t know and neither care about knowing how good or bad I am I just like to practice.
Let’s talk about today's qualifier. You played some very good opponents, who was the toughest? Are there any games that fans should check out in the replays?
The finals were the hardest because I'm not very good in Terran vs Protoss and as for the games I guess anyone can watch, if you're a fan you should watch.
How about vs LucifroN?
He's good but he wasn’t that hard to beat. Game 1 I just played really bad build order wise and game 2 and 3 weren't very hard. Terran vs Terran is my best match up.
In the semi-finals you played ViBE, a former teammate of yours. Was it hard to play a friend and ex-teammate in that situation?
Yes especially because I was already qualified, and ViBE is a great friend. Him dde and skew, we were good friends in sixjax. Sadly I had to beat ViBE. T.T
The first time you really seemed pressured all day was in the finals. Were you familiar with fraer and his play style?
I heard he was good and did well in DreamHack? but I never saw him play so I was a little scared about his play style and after playing him I can tell he's really good.
Game three was the highlight of the series, with a proxy barracks from you, then a immortal warp-gate attack from fraer, and the game finally ending with you barely staving off DT tech. What were your thoughts on that game?
I thought I was gonna lose that game but I kept fighting trying to comeback somehow than I realized he only had a few templars and my only choice was to send all SCVs and I managed to pull it off.
In your previous finals appearance, you lost 2-3 to Welmu, and the pattern of the results was the exact same until the final game. Did you have a sense of deja vu?
Yes, and I was a little bit angry, I hate Protoss, I hate to have to play marine marauder, I know how to play TvP but I don’t like to play marine marauder. Hopefully in next expansion of the game Terran will be able to play mech. : D
When fraer typed gg and you took the final qualifier winner spot, how did you react/feel?
I just felt good for the fact that I was able to beat Protoss in a tournament. It’s my worse match up statistically in tournaments.
So now that you've qualified, this will be your second TSL4 appearance. What has the TSL meant for you in Starcraft?
TSL was my 2nd big tournament in SC1 right after WCG. I still remember losing to JF and feeling terrible about my play. Hopefully I can play better this time.
You know, during your hold on Ohana, I couldn't help thinking back to your epic hold vs JF's proxy two gate on Outsider. ^^
Haha xD lucky!
Skill!
Keke
Looking at the player pool for TSL4, we know all but seven of the qualifiers, and can make good guesses at a few of the others. Who would you like to face?
Thorzain. I like TvT.
Since you know the Korean scene fairly well, who would you like to see qualify from the Korean qualifier in about 12 hours?
Hmmmm, HyuN or SymboL are really good friends. HyuN is underrated, he probably the best Zerg in TSL.
Alright, before we wrap up; what's something about you that people might not know?
The fact that I love skew.
Huh???
Not much, I didn’t know him for that long but I met him in sixjax and i just love him. xD Not gay.
Well then. Uh... final words? Shoutouts?
Just want to say that I'm sorry that I had to beat ViBE in my way to the finals, and a shotout to skew, check his website hotkeyit.com.
That's all? No, like... "check my stream, here's my twitter, go Knicks, try the veal?"
Ok. Ya just shoutout to skew and ViBE, check my twitter even though I don't use it a lot: @majorsc2 and follow skews sc2 website, that is for coaching videos at hotkeyit.com.
