ChanmanV Productions and Cyber Sports Network are pleased to bring the StarCraft 2 community the "My Favorites Bracket Series". This series is all about you, a single member of the community, creating your own tournament with your favorite players battling it out. Each tournament will consist of 8 of your favorite players and will be single elimination. The prize pool is provided and determined by you, the creator of the tournament.
"I've been approached by several members of the community that wished they could sponsor their own tournament that consisted of their favorite players, but they just didn't know how to make that happen. We felt like why not just make it simple for folks to do this. You provide the prize and player list, and we'll do the rest for you." said Chris "ChanmanV" Chan.
"When this idea came alive, I really felt like it was one of the best ways to give back to the community. There are so many fans of SC2 that want to get involved but are not always sure on how or even where to start. This Tournament allows communities members to make something their own, while also giving others more great SC2 action." said John Clark of CSN.
How will this feel like it's my own tournament?
Besides building your own bracket of favorite players, you will be included in the branding of the tournament and will have the opportunity to share your story live during the event as well as a post tournament interview on your reactions to the conclusion.
How can I create my own "My Favorites Bracket" tournament?
Simple. Contact ChanmanV Productions (chanmanvproductions@yahoo.com) or Cyber Sport Network (johnclark@cyber-sports.net). You provide the prize pool and a list of 10-15 players, and we do the rest. All marketing, live streaming, and casting will be provided for you by ChanmanV Productions and Cyber Sports Network.
Note: Be realistic with prize pool and player list. We may not be able to get Stephano for $1 prize pool. ^^

oooo.. this looks great!
Seriously though.. thanks to all of those community members, in advance, who will be a part of this series. I just sent a proposal out to a very large hardware company and I made sure to mention how great the SC2 community is when it comes to supporting organizations and companies that are investing in esports. Thank you all for the support!

This Idea is totally amazing! Can eSports get any cooler?
I'd love to see a barcraft pool resources to sponsor one of these events! Is that possible, or does it have to be a single person sponsoring?
|
Wow this is a really, really cool idea. Hopefully we can get some people willing to put together some rather large prize pools.
|
I like the idea, but I also fear of its limitations of available players as well as prize-pool limitations. Here's hopin' :D

I know it can be difficult getting a prize pool together by yourself so it's absolutely cool to join up with some friends or for a barcraft to sponsor one.

FYI, we will be announcing the very first tournament later this week.

Thing is that there are a lot of players that are more willing to play for less money if they know that the prizing is coming from an individual that's is a 'fan boy' or just really enjoys that players play. CSN had someone come to us with some cash they had saved up for a trip and instead wanted to run a show match with 2 of their favorite players. Both players, who had previously not played in a CSN event, were immediately on board when they heard that the prizing was coming from a person that just wanted to see them play. Both of these players are very well known and would normally not play for less then $500 for a show match.
Obviously.. if someone comes to us with $50 bucks and expects to get Polt, MVP, viOLet, Sheth and white-ra.. the expectations of that happening would need to be made clear. It certainly does not mean that a few of those players would not be interested.. but being realistic is key.

okay, now for the crazy brainstorming... could someone theoretically sponsour a tourney that has 7 players and the sponsor seeds himself/herself as the 8th player? I mean sure, they'd get stomped, but that would also be a funny yet awesome fanboy experience.
|
why not? Sounds like a great idea. Anyone willing to put up some cash for a tournament should have the right to get stomped by the players they want to see play in it with them!
|
This is amazing! Can't wait to see what people come up with!

If you realistically could get 8 players of your choice for a $300 bracket.. who would they be?
