People I don't want in LYLO with me:

  • Mattchew
  • Bill Murray
  • VE

I vote we start this game off by lynching one of them, because getting a solid read on any one of them is rather difficult.

This list has been generated based on my experience with them in previous games, which means at worst, we've got a 22% chance of hitting scum. And if not, I don't want them in my town at lylo anyways.

Who's with me?

So, EschelonTee, you have a better plan for our Day 1 lynch? What do you think we should be doing?

@acro: He's not on my list, because I don't think I've played any games with him yet. However, based on what he's posted so far in this thread, I'd say he's a pretty good addition to the list.

@kurumi: I wear these goggles because they make me look awesome.

I got a better idea. I could ask the people who started this bandwagon to see if they could actually give me a good reason for lynching a (probably town) newb. The guy has a filter that is four posts long. FOUR. The guy disappeared eight pages ago, and suddenly, it's a good idea to lynch him? That's completely absurd.

Unfortunately, it's too late for me to inject any reason into this thread, and save this scrubs life, so I'm going to let the town lynch him. Then, tomorrow, I'm going to go through the last 34 pages and find out exactly why he was lynched.

P.S.: The right answer to the question that I asked you above was "Foxtrotter, because he's scum".

I'm like 90% sure that ET is scum, but I can't prove the last 10% to myself. Looking back at his filter, he's carefully avoided giving any real reads. His read on BKE sticks out like a sore thumb, where he waffles back and forth, saying stuff like "his opening post was strange, but it's not nearly as conclusive as other opening scum posts have been in the past". His stance on the MK lynch is similarly bad. He goes from "Just, really fn obvious scum" to "Something feels a bit fishy" to the final quote, where he says he doesn't like the lynch because of the other people voting for it.

But, I'm still trying to work through his pushing of the Foxtrotter lynch. They were both town, so what does that mean? Did he really abandon his scum read just to blend in? Is that the secret to the chaos he pushed in thread? Why wouldn't he simply stick to his guns and push the townie who was so close to being lynched?

I've got most of my case against ET written, but I'm still trying to reconcile that last little bit.

I have emerged from the cave a wise and learned man!

I have consulted the oracle, and she has given me a name:

EchelonTee

At no point did anyone say
ghost wtf

Listen to me for a moment.

I actually had a plan for this game. My goal was to divorce myself as completely as possible from Day 1, then come back and analyze the aftermath. In my experience reading games, and subbing in, this has worked with good effect. While you're in the thread, fighting for or against the town, you can lose sight of the bigger picture of what's going on in the game. By avoiding this, more or less completely, you can allow yourself to come back as an impartial observer and properly identify what's going on in the thread.

My observations have lead me to believe this: EchelonTee is not town.

The first clue to his alignment comes hidden in posts like this:
On July 01 2012 03:45 EchelonTee wrote:
Bke is a classic d1 lynch; hard to clearly read, an active poster with strange accusations and minor breaches in logic that show only slight scumminess, but a lot of people jump on anyways. his opening post was strange, but it's not nearly as conclusive as other opening scum posts have been in the past (zealos, macpo). I find his posting scummish, but not conclusive enough for a d1 lynch, and very low on info to boot.

BM would be informative, mK would be accurate. Putting on my vote for mK.

Hi adam.

Notice how he carefully avoids taking a stance on the BKE lynch here. "Bke is a classic d1 lynch;", "not nearly as conclusive as other opening scum posts", "I find his posting scummish, but not conclusive". Just look at that last quote: It doesn't matter if BKE flipped town or scum, ET can say he called it right. This is a wishy-washy post carefully designed to avoid communicating anything whatsoever.

Next comes his pushing of the MK lynch. If you look back closely at his filter, you find him saying stuff like this:

On July 01 2012 18:13 EchelonTee wrote:
It's been 18 hours since I posted my minuscule case on mKmKmK; unless he has some egregious personal emergency, he doesn't want to answer me or is simply not reading the game. No excuse like "oh I was at work" flies here; it's been plenty of time.

People no doubt are going to say "oh he's just a lurker, I can't really tell from such few posts"; this feels obvious as hell to me. As obvious as Gambit and Maju were in TL LV. Just, really fn obvious scum. Any disagreements?

Followed by stuff like this:
On July 02 2012 06:31 EchelonTee wrote:
Mattchew, adam, ve, katina; is the mK lynch good to you? Something feels a bit fishy; I need reassurance or a cold slap in the face. We narrowly have time for a mass switch; only other option I see as feasible and good is a BM lynch.

And this:

On July 02 2012 06:45 EchelonTee wrote:
Mostly, solstice and foxtrot and grush's vote bumps all feel weird; not calling all three scum per se, but as toad put it once, I don't like the people sitting on this lynch. Bke couldve easily been bumped up if it was mk scum bke town, so I don't know if mk is a misread, or if I'm paranoid or what.

Where is everyone? Where is ghost's vote lol????

We go here from "Just, really fn obvious scum" to "Something feels a bit fishy" to the final quote, where he says he doesn't like the lynch because of the other people voting for it. Was it MK's excellent defense of his points against him that swayed his opinion? Nope. This entire time, MK hasn't posted at all, which is why ET thought he was scum in the first place.

But, what really got me in the end, was his involvement in the lynch of Foxtrotter.

On July 02 2012 06:26 EchelonTee wrote:
Foxtrot and kthez look bad.

I'm sticking with an mk lynch. If he flips town, fox is on deathbed.

Godspeed town.

It must have been all of Fox's post inbetween those posts that convinced ET he's scum. Suddenly,

Ft has done a vote and looks bad by same standards. Reminds me of cccalf from soaf, gambit from tl lv

Manmode super balls switch engage

Switch to ft nowwwwwww

Check his filter, these are all of his posts on Fox before getting down and dirty pushing his lynch. It's really kind of amazing.

I'm still not exactly sure what to make of his switch. Why would scum switch from one townie to another? The only real answer to that that I can come up with would be to push him tomorrow should he show up.

This question is the only thing that's keeping me from shooting him tonight.
