The Gambit's Cup is now at the end of it's second season and once again, the league will close on a great high. Gambit's Cup has given a new look on the foreign Brood War scene especially in terms of it's playoff play. The league itself has presented fantastic game play and entertainment, however, given the stakes of the playoffs, this goes to a whole other level in terms of quality. Once again, as was the case last season, the playoffs do not disappoint and there is certainly at least one more match to be decided.
One big difference that can be noticed this season as opposed to last season is that, we don't have a favorite vs favorite match up in the finals. Most people expected Gt to be there, however, not so much for sas. However, for anyone who really followed the Brood War scene for a decent amount of time, they know that sas really was a sleeping dragon this year, nothing was really seen from them up till the coming of the playoffs. And, in the playoffs as per usual for the true sas, they disassembled iFU with ease proceeding then to Nb. Nb then managed to take a couple games off of the mighty gladiator, however, in the end, once again... The dragon prevailed.
Now that it has awaken, Gt will need to make quick work of it as it will build off of every victory and every extra week of training for that one single deciding match. And Gt, being the favorite to win the entire league from the start has really gotten lucky up to this point, realistically, their major competition source was taken down in the first round by reps) and so, Gt just happily waltzed into the finals.
And now, with the second battle of the finals approaching and the dragon awaken, they're going to require every ounce of energy that they have because while they have a 1-0 lead up on the series, it is a near guarantee that they will be faced against Sziky who is likely to be present for an ace match this week. Thus, while Gt is ahead, they're looking at winning in six games because it's pretty well known, everyone aside from SouthPark fears Sziky.
Who's going to win? No one knows, Gt has the odds slightly in their favor as they can afford a slip up this week, though they certainly do not want one. It is going to be a close one.

Finals are Bo3 Clan Wars (not individual sets) x Bo7 (standard Clan War format), this thread is for Game 1 only.
If a player commits a punishable offense, one of his teammates will be penalized at random (will be a player which has yet to play) - This ensures that players don't BM when the lose knowing that a suspension will do nothing.
$900 on the line, winner takes all!
