If you already know your Character name and Character code fill in each option and click set. If you do not know your Character name and Character code simply click the set button on the Character Name and Charcter Code fields and BGLink will automatically detect your Starcraft 2 account information. Once you have detected your correct account information click done.
You are now ready to play Starcraft 2 on Beyond Gaming. Please note BGLink is required to be running during all Starcraft 2 competitions played on Beyond Gaming. If you created your Beyond Gaming account by signing up directly through the site, be sure to download and install BGLink here.
2.Finding and Joining Competitions.
Once you have setup your Beyond Gaming account with your Starcraft 2 user information and are ready to start playing you will need to find a competition. There are two ways to find and join a Beyond Gaming competition.
Option 1: Visit the Beyond Gaming website and you will notice two competition categories: Match and Tournament. Under each of these categories you will notice sub-categories like Free-For-All, Singles and Team. Choose the type of competition you want to play in the sub-categories and you will be taken to the competition directory.
Once you are in the competition directory you can view all the competitions being played in that category, or use the filter options to find competitions for specific games and platforms. As soon as you decide on a competition you want to join click on that competition to view the competition details.
When you are inside the competition details screen you will be able to view all the details of that competition. Once you have reviewed all of the details of the competition and are ready to join simply hit the join button in the top left hand corner of the page. You have now joined the competition.
OR
Option 2: Start up and Sign into BGLink. (You should already have downloaded and installed BGLink at this point.) Once signed in click on the “PLAY” tab if you are not already there. From the “Play” tab on BGLink you can view all competitions by platform and competition type (i.e. matches or tournaments) and join them right from BGLink by simply clicking join on any of the competitions.
*note some competitions on Beyond Gaming will require a buy in with Beyond Gaming tokens. Make sure you have enough tokens in your Beyond Gaming account when trying to enter these types of competitions or you will not be able to join.
3.Playing the Competition
Once you have successfully joined a competition you are ready to play. At the start of the competition the competition bracket will automatically build out. Simply return to the page you joined the competition on or click on the competition in the schedule tab of BGLink to view the bracket and locate your first match.
Once you have located your first match you can retrieve your opponent's Starcraft 2 Character name and Character code by simply scrolling over their name with the mouse pointer. Once you have this information you can add them as a friend inside the Starcraft 2 client and proceed to play your match.
BEFORE YOU START YOUR MATCH :
- Make sure BGLink is installed and running. BGLink must be running for the entirety of the competition or your matches will not track and could hinder the progress of the competition.
- Please make sure you have reviewed the rules and guidelines of the competition. This area will also contain the map pool information for the competition.
- Make sure you know whether you are Home or Away on the competition bracket. This will tell you who is Host and defines the order of map picks.
As soon as you have completed your match there is nothing else to do. BGLink automatically tracks reports the results of your matches to Beyond Gaming. If you have moved up in the bracket you simply need to wait until the next round has begun to continue progressing through the competition.
