Hello everyone! IGN Pro League is thrilled to announce our newest tournament! The Ye Olde Map Tournament features some of the most amazing maps ever created by Blizzard and has a lineup of some of the best players in all of North America! This tournament is meant to be a fun throwback to the early days of StarCraft II and may serve as a way for us to see how far the strategy and skill have progressed since the first time players set foot on Scrap Station or Kulas Ravine. If you're a fan of nostalgia, not-so-balanced maps, and some fun StarCraft games, you better not miss this! Oh, and these games will be played LIVE for your entertainment. =)

Format

This single-elimination tournament features 16 players from the North America server and is a best of 5 format. This match is being played for the round of 16. The winning player will move on to the Quarter-finals and the loser will be eliminated entirely! Keep in mind that each round increases the prize money!

don't mean to be a negative nancy but I think this is a terrible idea. forces players to practice on old maps which is basically a waste of time, not to mention they're all unbalanced. I think this is something that's more appropriate for random people instead of pro gamers who should be spending their time trying to actually improve.

Why have i never heard of this? I think it was mentioned a while back somewhere, but i give TL like a hundred hits every day, r/starcraft a ton also and i had no idea that 16 games had been played? Are there VODS?

You are a negative nancy and players don't have to practice these maps if they don't want to. It's super fun for the audience to see old, imbalanced maps being used in a nostalgia-tourney.

Besides entertainment, is there even a reason to see a DeMusliM vs. Nony show-match ?
I mean there skill level aren't even close even if DeMusliM isn't in the best shape lately.
