Took a while for me to catch up in games, but now that I can't spoil myself by translating anymore, here they are!

ODT Group B 1st place:

+ Show Spoiler +

STX’s mini: “the reason I’m good at PvZ is…”

STX Soul’s mini is emerging as a new PvZ specialist. In the Starleague 2012 Offline Qualifiers, mini swept CJ and KT’s representative zergs, Effort and Crazy-Hydra, and this time, in the dual tournament, he felled SKT’s Hyuk and KT’s Action. When asked about the secret to his PvZ, mini said, “I admire Bisu’s play a lot, so I think it’s from watching his VODs and trying to imitate his play.” With a Starleague filled with zergs, look forward to the next time mini plays.

Q: Thoughts on your first Starleague round of 16
Mini: I’m so happy I qualified. Last time, I beat strong zergs like Effort and Crazy-Hydra, so it feels good to win against zergs today.

Q: How did you practice
Mini: I thought, ‘I just need to beat two zergs’ and practiced PvZ. Even if I lost to Baby, I figured I’d win in the final match.

Q: What’s the trick to winning in PvZ
Mini: I really like SK Telecom’s Bisu, so I think I do well because I watch his VODs and try to imitate him.

Q: You showed a perfect match in the winner’s set. Did you practice for management games
Mini: I don’t really like the map Electric Circuit, so I tried to win early with zealots. So I hid my zealots until Action attacked and attacked myself.

Q: What are your goals this Starleague
Mini: Since I missed my one chance for a “best rookie” award, I want to walk the Royal Road.

Q: There are a lot of zergs, so you’ll have a lot of chances to play PvZ. Are you confident
Mini: Since my PvZs have been going well, they’ve been fun, and I’m confident. I hope a lot of zergs qualify up.

Q: Anyone you want to meet in the round of 16
Mini: No one in particular, but just for the sake of revenge I want to meet Jaedong once in a Starleague.

Q: STX has four players left [in the Starleague], but do you want to say anything as the first to advance
Mini: I think my elders will be jealous a younger player advanced first. I hope we each qualify and meet in a big way

Q: Anything else you want to say
Mini: Calm helped me a lot, so in his name I’ll try my hardest and get really far

KT’s Action: “I want a rematch with mini.”

KT Rolster’s Action took the momentum he showed in the proleague postseason and carried it into the Starleague Dual Tournament. He went 5-1 in the proleague postseason, including a win in the Grand Final; in the ODT he beat Team 8’s Baby twice and advanced to the round of 16 as his group’s 2nd place with a 2-1 score.

Action, who got to the Starleague round of 16 for the first time in 2 years, said, “Round of 8 is the immediate goal, but this time I want to pour my heart and soul into getting to the round of 4 and beyond.”

Q: Thoughts on getting to the Starleague round of 16
Action: I got really ambitious after passing the Starleague Offline Prelims. A lot of teammates wanted to help me practice, even during our off-season, but I recklessly practiced by myself. I came close [today] to having huge regrets.

Q: How did you prepare
Action: I almost got careless because it was the offseason. I studied the maps while helping Flash practice, and so I figured I’d improvise my strategies and play.

Q: You beat Baby twice to advance to the round of 16
Action: To be honest, before the match I was thinking about how Baby was helping SK Telecom practice for the Grand Final. The only thing Baby did [during that time] was help SK Telecom practice, so to think he could win twice in the dual tournament doesn’t make any sense. I just feel bad for Baby.

Q: You showed solid ZvT
Action: I tried to be aggressive while matching the opponent’s style. After the 7pool rush worked, I thought I might be ahead, but realized I was behind when I realized my drone count was low. I think I was able to win through my mutalisk attacks on his main and nat.

Q: Anyone you want to meet in the round of 16
Action: I want to play against mini again. I think I relaxed too much after my zerglings got into his main. I want to meet him again in a revenge match.

Q: Anything you want to say
Action: My best result was a starleague round of 8. This dual tournament was difficult because everyone was so good, but this time I want to prepare really hard and get to the round of 4.

Damn, Mini gunning for Jaedong right out the gates. Even given Jaedong's recent form, that is some balls.

Grats to mini; always good to see some Protosses making it further into the OSL.

LOL @ the first line in Action's section, coupled w/ his face (he looks kind of pissed). Feel bad for Baby though; it would be great for Team 8 members to show some good results.

Seriously, a guy name Mini is not rivalry material for the like of the Tyrant. The only rival that the Lord of Wrath has laid his death eyes on is the Weapon. Everybody else is just bumps on the road for the final clash.

I have never understood why these interviews are so common in the Brood War Scene. Versus like a Video internet which your seeing more and more in other eSports scenes. Most notably would be Starcraft 2 but I guess BW just trying to be as distant as possible?
