The evening of course starts off with our first place contestants who just now step onto the playing field. Gt are the obvious favorites for the title of sole best team in the Twitch.TV Gambit's Cup and Foreign Brood War. And of course, as per normal, coming up in attempt to upset the titan is reps.ru pro gaming squad! They've done it before, can they do it again? Only time will tell, one thing that is for sure however, is that we are going to be seeing an epic war break out between these two teams and both of them are highly deserving of the victory, only one can claim it!

Who's going to win?
I think Gt will win 4-2 or 4-1 strictly because they will do what LRM) failed to. LRM) had superior players to reps) players 1 by 1, but we choked. Gt has an active SneazeL, who is by far the best protoss outside of Korea right now. They have Semih who is 2nd or 3rd, king of 9pool in SouthPark, and Michael. That alone should be a guaranteed 4 wins, with backup players in an inactive trutaCz and Jumper. It's only 6 players, and those are 6 strong players.
What do you think about both teams?
I think Gt has an advantage simply because they were composed for this league, but that reps) is the strongest brute force team still left in the playoffs. They have the tact and good leadership in Plumbum, who stays on top of everything that is happening, paired with an ace player, and a couple of strong ones that can give Gt a run for their money.
What would have to happen for there to be an upset?
The possibility of an upset is high, and lies in two different areas. The first is that Gt is notorious for having their players not show up, I'm assuming because no one on the team tells anyone to. The second is if SouthPark gets a ZvP, vs reps), a heavy macro toss team. Why do I think the entire CW revolves around SouthPark? Well, SneazeL is an almost guaranteed win unless he gets reps) ace, Pro7ecT. That's 1-.25 (25% chance he gets Pro7ecT). Semih will beat just about anyone in reps), 2-.25. Michael also has a 75% chance to win, as I see him trying to hide his ISL3 builds behind some cheese, 2.75-.5. At that point, if SP gets a Protoss who knows how to make cannons (send Sayle!), it'll be 2.75-1.5 right off the bat. Then you still have 2 sets, one with an inactive specialty player in Jumper (matchup specific player), which I don't think can win vs the likes of reps) lower lineup simply because reps) stacks the bottom of their lineup with micro players (gag was supposed to be set 6 vs LRM in place of Defi). After that, trutaCz is up in the air. If someone can counter his mutas, he's in a bad spot. In my opinion, if SouthPark fails his 9pool, it'll be 4-3 for reps).
Final comments?
I think this CW will be a lot more interesting than sas vs Nb despite it being 1st vs 6th, as reps) has shown strong wins when they bring their best. There is also a lot more on the line. The winner of sas vs Nb can hold their own, whereas the result of this has exceptional weight in the fact that the preparation for either team is so, so, so much different and needs to occur the following day of the semifinals CW by management.

Who's going to win?
It's going to be reps) for sure.
What do you think about both teams?
I think Gt has many strong players, but they're not really active and they won't work like a team to the extent of others, Gt is lucky they have Michael. reps) work like a real team and everyone supports each other within the team, they also have strong players and a player like Pro7ect means a sure win every time.
What would have to happen for there to be an upset?
If Gt manages to get a 3-3 Clan War, it's going to be difficult for reps) because Michael is going to show them Zerg powa .
Final comments?
I want reps) to win because they defeated LRM, they deserve to be in the finals. I wish however, good luck to both teams and I hope my favorite player of Gt beats someone [SneazeL] .

Gt.SneazeL
SneazeL is the leader and founder of Gambit's Team as well as potentially their best player. There is no doubt that SneazeL can beat anyone on reps), realistically, he may be better off against a Zerg team, however, his PvP is also very strong and may just be the best in foreign Brood War as well. I strongly believe that SneazeL will win his match and if he doesn't win, his team won't win which adds a very large amount of pressure to him. While his team has a lot of good players, reps) just took down what was described by many to be a "favorite" to win the whole thing, therefore, Gt is going to have to bring everything they have to the table.
Gt.TrutaCz
TrutaCz is the co-founder of Gt and is also on their best players. His capabilities, as a few of his teammates are strongest against Zerg. With that being said, reps) is among the worse possible matches for Gt and Gt is basically going to have to beat reps) in raw talent because they are so unlikely to have the ideal match ups. Though, with players of the skill caliber of TrutaCz, it is a very distinct possibility that they push through any match up. TrutaCz actually has the most recent results from any of the players on Gt, that being from ISL Wild Card where he came out of a group of three with OctZerg and Zaraki. And, while these matches are ZvZ, he did play them and he did win them which speaks to his activity.
Gt.Michael
Michael is arguably the best player on Gt, everyone expects him to be the ace player and everyone expects him to win. This is a hell of a lot of pressure to lay on one person, however, if we recall, Michael is no stranger to extreme pressure. Back in the Altitude Nation Wars Semi-Finals, Michael had the odds stacked against him with his own set to win as well as the ace match. In the end, after going down 0-1 in his first match, Michael came back to win 4 in a row stealing the Nation War from Asia Pacific and bringing it back for the United States. Several other examples illustrate these qualities from Michael in other ace match situations where he came out ahead. Michael is a juggernaught in the Brood War community and it would be a huge upset if he loses to anyone on the reps) roster.
Gt.SouthPark
SouthPark, same play style for years, still works more often than not. Ling run by ZvP, Muta in ZvT and standard ZvZ, SouthPark rarely plays games past the 10 minute mark and once it gets to this point his play weakens significantly. Against a prepared, aware opponent, we end up with a match similar to that of SouthPark vs Semih in the Altitude Nation Wars. Though, any unprepared opponent will most definitely fall prey to SouthPark and his play style.
Gt.Jumper
Jumper could turn out to be a great asset in these playoffs, though against reps), he is likely to end up in his worst match up. That match up is PvP, however, the only player on reps) which Jumper would be unlikely to win against is GoTuNk because reps) protosses have the same weakness as Jumper. Thus, Jumper could be a great asset if he shows up for Gt, especially if he gets matched up against Largo or Pro7ect. Jumper hasn't been there too much recently for Gt, so it's not too expected that he shows up, though, it is evident that everyone who looks at this writeup about Jumper will recall Jumper vs Dewalt from Altitude Nation Wars quarter finals.
Gt.KapyO
KapyO has never been a superpower, though he did beat Pro7ect at the start of the season. Thus, he could take matches off of better players, though as far as can be known from any league, KapyO is inactive and is not expected to make an appearance this week.
Gt.LegaCy
LegaCy has played his role for the team earlier in the season, though it is hard to say he will be there on Friday. LegaCy quite simply is not on Gt's top line up, thus when Gt needed more help in the organization and in filling the lineup, LegaCy filled in, but now that it's playoffs, Gt is going to need all of its top assets, LegaCy isn't one of them.
Gt.eeic09
eeic is a relatively new appearance on Gt's line ups. He hasn't played much this season, but he's been there as of recent, therefore its seems he is a pretty reliable appearance for this particular clan war. His abilities are there, that much is clear, but it's really hard to rate him in comparison to the remainder of the competition being as he only really seems to play on ladder and not in foreign events. He is kind of a wild card for Gt, a weapon that many teams are not too aware of.
Gt.Semih
Semih is a very talented Protoss player, in fact if all of his match ups were up to par with his PvZ, he'd probably be up for the top foreign Protoss nomination. Even though Semih won't be getting a PvZ today, he'll be likely to win simply because reps) don't have the strongest vP lineup and so, he can afford to not play his top match up while others aren't as well. Likely to win unless he runs into Pro7ect.

Plumbum is the founder of reps.ru pro gaming club and is really the mind behind the organization, he won't be playing, or rather, it's unlikely since he'll only be sending himself out as an absolute last resort. This doesn't make him a bad player, by no means is he bad, he beat Bibiane in ISL last week. Though on the same day he also lost to both AlfiO and Bibiane to find himself out of the ISL. So from these recent results, we see a very mixed view on Plumbum, he can take games off of top tier players, however most would rate him a step below that level including himself.
reps)Pro7ect
Pro7ect is another leader of reps) and simply put, he's their ace player. There's no doubt about it, if reps) needs to send anyone in for an ace match, it'll be Pro7ect regardless of the other team's pick. In this case, I would like to compare Pro7ect to Michael which happens to be a most interesting comparison because if there is an ace match, it'll be Pro7ect vs Michael. Both have similar skills, they're both very strong in the macro game and they both love to play cheesy builds. And both are so good at these two drastically different styles that it's really hard to predict anything when going head to head, however, when going against other opponents, it becomes really hard to place a prediction against Pro7ect.
reps)Largo
Largo is a very capable Terran player and you can bet that he's been practicing for the ISL. That being said, Largo's skill should be pretty much as high as it possibly can be. By no means is largo the best player in this league, nor is he favored to win his match, but being a big part of reps)' win against LRM by defeating Choosy is no small accomplishment. Quite simply, had Largo lost that game, there would have been a good opportunity for LRM to win the clan war which will be left at 50:50 just for the sake of argument. And so, Largo did it already against a very strong player, can he repeat his triumph against Gt? Only time will tell, and though he won't be favored, he definitely has the potential.
reps)GoTuNk
GoTuNk is a strong player who is on a win streak. In the Gambit's Cup, GoTuNk has been either on a long win streak or a long loss streak, there's yet to be scene a really balanced performance from GoTuNk, nothing seems to break his streak and then when he does, it becomes a complete reverse of the previous. This is a curious phenomenon, one which we haven't really observed with many other Brood War players, you may be wanting to chalk that up to inactivity, but you have to consider that he literally dropped from a 4 game winning streak to a 5-6 game losing streak which would be the quickest drop to inactivity ever scene.
reps)Tama
Tama has been a large part of reps)' victories this season when he's been around. His season record is among the highest in terms of win % and though he lost his game in the quarter finals, he was playing a macro monster in terms of ZvP, not to mention his opponent is 100% in Gambit's Cup season and playoffs. So, with that being said, we can't really hold that loss against Tama, he's still a great player and will be a huge part of the team's success or failure. He has shown great PvZ in the past and so, it's not hard imagine he would do quite well against Gt's heavy Zerg line up. He probably will be looking to not get a PvP, though this is a little out of his control and he'll be looking to plumbum for an appropriate match.
reps)Dewalt
Dewalt has been more or less of a coin toss this season, there's really not telling if he'll pull a great win or come to a terrible defeat. It has been said by many that Dewalt is the best Protoss player in Russia, or as plumbum puts it, "Dewalt is our rising star" and while it's not arguable that Dewalt is a very talented Protoss, it's difficult to call him the best Protoss in Russia when he's the least consistent Protoss in Gambit's Cup. So, in a way, Dewalt is very comparable to Must from iFU who is also considered by his frequent opponents to be a yo-yo player.
reps)2011
Here, there is a very talented player, however, it is unclear if he's active at all and given his non-participation in Gambit's Cup to date... It's really hard to predict him to be there. The only game he's played in the Gambit's Cup was on week 1 where he lost all of his mutalisk to a glitch that prevented them from moving, only to come back and crush V-Gundam. In essence, it would be crazy to see him there on Friday and he could be a great asset, but it seems unlikely at this point in time.
reps)Defi
Defi is a very interesting player, he's a 2v2 player for starters, but then, not much has been scene from him since the beginning of the season and he's taken everyone through race changes from Protoss to Zerg to Protoss and no one knows what else in between. Word on the street says it's race of the week, though, whatever it is... It came out big in the Quarter Finals where Defi somehow managed to take a huge win off of LRM)DragOn, something that no one was really expecting. So, it has to be made an assumption that Defi has been sticking to Protoss for some time and it'll be interesting to see if he can pull out another victory against some equally or more talented players than his previous.
reps)Djem5
Djem5 has been used by reps) on some occasions, it is not expected that he takes place in the line up though he has shown that he can take games off of top tier players, but he's also dropped games to much lesser players.
reps)gag
Gag is a good player and could be a definite asset if he was to show up. It's likely that he does considering his past appearances for iwL-, gag does seem committed to this league and as long as he doesn't happen to come across another .0000001% chance scenario again, he should be able to make it.

The second match of the semi-finals is potentially the craziest match up that could be hoped for, that being sas vs Nb. These teams are both champions from season 1 of the Gambit's Cup as they were a merged team at that time. However, yesterday's allies are today's enemies and they can't assume either team will be pulling their punches this week. Both one title, both looking for another, should be great.

Who's going to win?
I think sas will win. Nb has no chance taking this CW. sas's Ace (punnnnnn) players are getting back into shape, if not already, due to their participation in ISL3. To top that off, Nb's ace is inactive and possibly won't even show up. I'm calling 4-1 because I don't think sas will stack the top of their lineup all at once.
What do you think about both teams?
I think sas is a good team, but one with 3 high level players and 3 subpar players for their top lineup. The results show mediocre results and good management by sas. sas players as previously stated are getting back into shape, and the only one out of shape (2 weeks limited gaming) is Sziky, but he's Sziky, so I don't really think it matters. It's all going to come down to if QuitCanada, LocDog, skzlime, or Zaraki as a group of 4 can pull out 1 win verse a deteriorating Noobs. Noobs on the other hand has older more experienced players, not necessarily the high level of tournament play that sas players have, but experienced in general and whose nerves don't really effect their gameplay. They are who they are, possibly a little better, but not worse. TerrOr, fLip, and Ramms are in good shape and open up possibilities for placement (if they show *poke at Ramms*) wins. Albeit, still think Nb has no chance.
What would it take in order for there to be an upset?
The only possibility of an upset is if a player like TerrOr gets Ace, who has a hard time adapting and just is automatically triggered to allin when he is confused. fLip has been performing well, I think he'll be Nb's only sure win. Followed by Mazur practicing for a week, that could prove interesting if it happens. Simply because he would make mincemeat of KaShu, skzlime, or ZaRaki. A lot of Nb's lineup is useless as they haven't played BW or showed to anything all season. I think this upset relies a lot on players like Favorite and GameZZZ being kept out of the lineup, substituted by a LU of Mazur, Lossilohi, TerrOr, fLip, M0b, and Ramms. Nb also needs to sac a strong player who is weakest vs Z in whatever spot they think Sziky will be. A player like Ramms, who can take out every Protoss and Terran that sas can offer. That is, again, only for the highly unlikely possibility of an upset. Nb needs strong management for this CW, and h00ligan is not a good manager, so for Nb's sake, they can only hope he does his job.
Final comments?
Last season as sasnb, sas was the strongest part of that double team threat, and despite sas's VERY poor results for 5 months of Gambit's Cup Season 2, the neanderthal like thought process needed to understand the imbalance of power verses a team that they have paired with before should explain this CW well. Also, I think it's nice to have Gambit Cup's season 1 champions paired against each other. HYPE!

Who's going to win?
Definitely sas. There's just no way to beat that lineup and I happen to be a Sziky fanboy ;D
What do you think about both teams?
I love both teams so I'm kind of sad that they have to meet before the finals. I hope they field all of their amazing players and show amazing games! I'd really like to see a close match!
What would it take in order for there to be an upset?
According to the seeding, sas. beating Nb. would be an upset. As we all know, that's just numbers talking ;P. Sas is probably the best team in the entire Gambit's cup (Except for LRM ;d) and I really see them easing their way into the finals.
Final comments?
First and foremost, Twitch.tv is amazing. The fact that they sponsored this event is so freaking awesome. They also have the best streaming site known to the internetz. Second, Eywa is a baws! He has dedicated and sacrificed his time on this league and it turned out to be the best foreigner teamleague to date. I really can't wait to watch the rest of it and good luck to all the teams!

Who's going to win?
I bet sas will take it.
What do you think about both teams?
Both teams are pretty good - they are playing in the GC playoff semi-final, thus it's not even arguable. Otherwise, Nb took a big loss when Mazur stopped playing which means they will not be at optimal strength.
What would it take in order for there to be an upset?
The players of sas got cancer and died, what else could happen?
Final comments?
I wish to players of both teams to show us good SC.

H00ligan will be hard pressed to find an advantageous line up given the absence of his best vZ player and the very Zerg heavy opposition.
Nb.Mazur
Innactive, no one expects an appearance from him on Friday, really a huge blow to Nb.
Nb.Lossilohi
Lossilohi's TvZ has shown some highs and lows, it's really not ideal that all of his play styles in both ZvP and TvZ are widely known, thus can be easily countered. Regardless of this fact, he's shown solid play using these techniques and if it isn't anticipated by the opposition, he could find himself with a very nice advantage which could turn into a swing player for Nb.
Nb.Terror
TerrOr's styles are completely the opposite of Lossilohi's they're so varied, TerrOr is one of the most strategic players in all of foreign Brood War. His play styles are extremely aggressive and are generally focused on the early to mid game. While TerrOr's long game has been improving gradually over time, it's not and never has been his strong suit. Chalk that up to his play style and mentality or his innability to multitask up to other players of his rank, in the end, doesn't really matter in this clan war. TerrOr is expected to pull a win, or he could, but not in the long game.
Nb.Lure
vAriOus is a very talented player and this is well illustrated by his performance in the AoV ISL, however, he has since been inactive and hasn't shown any really great plays thus far in the Gambit's Cup. Mostly doesn't play at all in Clan Wars.
Nb.Flip
fLip can beat any of the players from sas. Realistically, one of the more active/prominent players at the moment who's best match up just happens to be ZvZ. He'll be Nb's ace player if it comes down to it, there's no doubt about it.
Nb.Flaf
FlaF is an inactive player who has been known to show for events of this importance in the past, there's no telling if he'll be there. He has no chance of winning anything but ZvZ realistically, though given the Zergs sas has, from inactivity, it is unlikely that FlaF can put up much of a fight.
Nb.Whistler.
Inactive, no chance of appearance.
Nb.GaMeZZZ
GaMeZZZ is one of those players who plays one build per match up and generally, not even standard builds. He's a really simple player to stop, however, if he falls on an unsuspecting opponent, he could pull some wins. After all, GaMeZZZ has all killed sas this season.
Nb.Favorite
Favorite is quite simply, overrated. While he did manage an A- rank, he's not the most active player there is and considering his recent 0-2 outing from the ISL against a C rank player, it's quite safe to say he's not a huge threat to any team remaining in the Gambit's Cup.
Nb.m0b
M0b has played his role for the team quite well up to date, in order for him to play any role against sas, he'll have to be matched up against DraW or LocDog. It is feasible for him to beat Zaraki, but I just don't see m0b playing a real factor in any PvZ. He'd be a better match against reps) than he would against sas.
Nb.v1
Now, this is already into the more obscure players of Nb, that being, most people don't know about v1 at all. He is actually a fairly talented Protoss player, however, he is inactive as far as anyone can tell and it's unlikely for him to show up for this Clan War.
Nb.TheWK
The.WK is an extremely strong Protoss player, best in PvT... If he were to obtain a PP match, he would be a huge asset for Nb as he would be a candidate ace, though fLip would probably get the upper hand on that in this case. TheWK is not likely to show up on Friday, he hasn't been there for any games of the Gambit's Cup and isn't expected to show given a full time job and a 4-5 am clan war time, it doesn't make sense that he would be there.
Nb.Ramms
Ramms is a monster, quite simply put. He just made it out of his ISL group this week and is likely to be active up till he is eliminated. Nb needs a win from him and if he is full on capacity, he can most definitely become their ace player.

The Management, the most important component of a BW team starts here, you need good management to win clan wars assuming relatively close strength players. This management team has been with sas for a while now and already has one victory under their belt, that being paired with Nb. We've seen ups and downs from them so far this season and the most notable low point being the last time they played Nb (letting 3 Zergs get ling allin'd by the same player)... This of course is a mistake they can't repeat, but there are other mistakes which they can make which could be just as disastrous.
sas.Ace
Ace is likely to be the ace player for sas, Sziky doesn't seem to stick around for more time than that allocated for his match. With that being said, Ace is going to have to be in top shape for this clan war and with ISL going on, it's a pretty fair assumption that he'll be in top shape or close to it.
sas.DraW
DraW is one of the most well known players in foreign Starcraft. His PvZ is very strong which, given the composition of Nb, he has about even chance at any match up, therefore, it stands as a distinct possibility that he gets this favorable match. His other match ups are nothing to scoff at, however, they don't really match up to the quality of the previously indicated match up. Regardless of the match up however, DraW will be expected to pull a victory.
sas.Kashu
Kashu at this point is kind of like a wild card for sas, is he inactive, is he getting ready for ISL? We don't know exactly what form he's going to be in and if he wins, sas will pretty much be guaranteed a victory for the clan war, but this is not clear at all.
sas.LocDog
LocDog is also one of the more overrated players in foreign Brood War, he performs very well on ladder, however, hasn't been up to par in any recent tournaments. He often takes losses to players where no one quite understands.
sas.skzlime
Skzlime, as demonstrated in sas vs iFU quarterfinal game is a backup player for sas. With that being said, this is such a great player to have as a backup and it really says a lot about their line up. His skill is very high to be 7th best and not many teams are so fortunate to have this kind of skill depth.
sas.Sziky
Sziky is and has been for the undisputed best foreigner for the longest time, he's taken a few losses now and then, but overall solid play. Word on the street has it that Sziky is pretty well at the top of his game and given that, he should make easy work of any opponent he may run into.
sas.Zaraki
Zaraki is a great player and he is very well rounded as far as match ups go. Now, the problem with Zaraki is while he can do everything well, he can't do everything at the same time. His multitasking is a definite issue which could be exploited in many ways especially in the mid-game.
sas.DinOt
DinOt is one of the stronger players in the foreign scene, he has yet to show enough stats in the Gambit's Cup to really predict that he will show up. He wasn't there in the Quarter Final match, in fact the only appearance from DinOt was the last time Nb and sas met. In any case, DinOt is not reliable and sas may be able to win here without him, however, they can't expect to win in the finals without one of their top players.
