If there is a cup going on, there are a lot of Streamers abusing the featured list ( in my opinion)
e.G:
Today there are 18 featured streams for go4Sc2:
5 of them have more than 100 viewers - this are the intresting ones of pro players or caster
and than there is the rat-tail with less than 100 , mostly less than 10 viewers.
Same for Zotac Cup: 10 streams only 1 with more than 100 viewers
In total : 28 featured streams for cups today, only 6 with more than 100 viewers is only about 21% interesting streams.
So now my suggestion: Apply some kind of filter , only allowing streams with a decent number of viewers. I think some random platin guy shoulndt be on the featured list , only because he is playing a tournament.

Some random plat attaching his stream to Go4SC2 because he's playing in it isn't abuse, it's what is intended. And attaching to an event and being featured are different, anyway.

Is there a way to filter the "events" out? If not, featured and event looks same for me(except from the little blue star).
If I would like to watch some good streams, I'll usually go to http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/ , this works fine, if there are not many events. But if, I always have to scroll a lot, to fish out the good ones, because there are so many unintresting event streams.
Long story short: I am looking for Pro-Streams or Professional cast and 80% of the listed "featured" streams are trash

Look at the streams on the sidebar instead of clicking on the stream button?

This is a good point but your OP is really unclear about what you're talking about... maybe you should edit it and include the screenshot you took.

just a random screenshot i took, this whole issue could probably be tackled by only showing the top streams(people that are featured or a minimum amount of viewers if thats possible) and the others can be accessed by clicking a spoiler to show all streams for an event.

I think topic starter has a point ... a filter is maybe a good idea to apply on feat.streams
Something like Shorting with Viewers/League Rank or something.
From the other side atm im Gold @ 1vs1 if im gonna watch a stream... except "big names" ill prefer to watch a guy playing tournament and hes close to my skill rather to watch a random Master player that maybe doing things im not able to understand or add em on my playstyle.

Live event streams are now sorted by viewers and limited to seven attached streams before requiring a click to show all.
Surpirsed everyone missed this!

That's for the sidebar, I think he is referring to the streams overview page which is in dire need of a redesign.

So, has there been any changes in the last week concerning this? Because right now I just don't see events at all on the stream page. I only see them in the sidebar.

hmm I really hope the page is indeed being redesigned and is gonna be awesome! Something feels very weird when Ironsquid and Day9 aren't listed, but 3 featured LoL players are hehe.

I agree, I had TLs stream list bookmarked and always went there to check the most recent event and who were streaming. I can see the problem with 15 Go4SC2 streams, but not having a 20k$+ tourny there seems totally wrong too.
Maybe two separate pages, one for user stream and one for tourny streams?
Or somehow just filter the small cup streams with <100 viewers?

How are streams associated with events? Right now I see a Lukking stream for MOBA Weekly #28 and this guy is playing 2v2 in SC2. I'm just wondering if people are exploiting something so they can put themselves to the top of the sidebar.
