As I'm interested in putting together a semi-sponsored League of Legends team, I thought I'd create and then volunteer to maintain a Team & Clan recruitment thread similar to the one on the. SC2 forums one.

Other: + Show Spoiler +As I blogged about several weeks ago, I won $150,000.00 from a mobile development competition not long ago. As I quit my day job to do more of that, it also means I have more time to compete in video games once again. My past accomplishments show I can pick up games quickly in any genre. With League of Legends being a team oriented game though, I need a team to practice efficiently. After posting to put together or join a team for the Alienware Arena event, I came into contact with RawCocoButter (1792 ELO season 1) that agreed to do a team with me. However, we are still trying to fill the last 3 positions on the team. On the plus side, if the new team uses the name "PHD Gaming", I'm willing to initially pay hotel expenses to any event for those on the team as it will promote my company called "PHD Gaming LLC". Open to using a different name if the above isn't of interest, but it is a team that could start "semi-sponsored" for when some of the non-invite LAN events start to pop-up. Looking for those open to practicing as a team often and who are interested in giving it a real go at LOL's $5 million season 2 prize pool. Ideally, one would have lots of League of Legends experience or have been a competitive success in another game that has switched to League of Legends after their recent season 2 prize money announcement. Whatever you wish to give as there are so many ELOs in this game. :p Even arranged 5s and solo-Q ELOs on a player can be quite different. Basically - the team can specify if it matters.

If TL B makes a post that they are recruiting, they would be. Thus far, they have made no such post in the correct format in this thread. As for what "semi sponsored" means, read the spoiler for the team I made called "PHD Gaming". It is basically just an offer that I'd cover hotel costs.

ELO doesn't have anything to do with it - just different goals. One has the goal of competing in various tournaments and standard practices, while the other one is just more relaxed/play when you are on. Make sense?

I'd say that for competitive play, you'll have a better synergy with your team through training, whereas playing casually means you'll be more like solo q and will probably nee more ELO to produce similar results (see EG).
