Directly after he was eliminated from and finished fourth at the European Battle.net Invitational, fragster took the opportunity to talk to the "Drunken Terran" (T)Tarson about the tournament, the pressure in a home tournament and of course the mysterious nickname.

be aware of spoilers according EU Battle.NET Invitational
-> To the interview

Some impressions:

+ Show Spoiler +
Did you feel a lot of pressure from the fans cheering for you and expecting you to win the tournament or at least get second?

Tarson: Yeah actually it was really nice like huge crowd cheering for you, but I was really stressed and I felt the pressure and expectations. I don't know, it was my first tournament where I was the host so it was a new experience and it was really stressful for me.

Aren't you afraid that the korean players are much better than the european players?

Tarson: Watching MLG you can say it is like this but I don't know. I played MC at Homestory Cup and I think it wasn't like I already lost even before the games started. It was possible to beat koreans, Huk shows this and other players showed it, so I am not afraid. I even look forward to play some koreans especially NaDa and BoxeR.

Enjoy reading the whole interview!

Koreans would definitely be afraid of Tarson tho

He is awesome to hear ...imagined all his answers in his voice/accent.

He may be looking forward to play BoxeR, but after his MLG performance I think that would be an uphill battle.

he obviously thinks those games were even but Mc is one of those players that takes one of your disadvatages and just uses it against you like none other.

Drunken Terran is a perfect nick name for him :D

Good Luck to Tarson in the future!

He should be. He took a game off MC because he did a strange build that MC countered in the other 2 games. He overestimates himself in my opinion.

In the Homestory cup he partied with Whitera until 05AM and continued to play in the tournament in the morning. Winning a game over MC etc.
There are a lot of stories him partying etc.

People say he plays better when he is a little drunk ^^

I was impressed by his performance at the invitational, hopefully he can do even better soon.

He seems to be a really nice guy too.

It's kinda self-explanatory He drinks a lot and often.

Loved Tarson at the Homestory Cup, best of luck to him in the future!

lol Big words from a player who isn't mechanically strong enough to play against Koreans. He hasn't shown any innovation that might give him an edge strategically, either.

You don't need to be scared of them to lose to them. I'm not scared either, doesn't mean I would beat one.

You might not be afraid of them, but that doesn't mean you stand a chance vs them. lol

That's a special irony saying you can't remember why you're nickname is Drunken (____). It's like in middle school when I couldn't figure out why my friends called me alchy. Then I realized they weren't being nerdy.

So that was an interesting interview. Much better than the last one in fact. I wasn't really interested in (T)Tarson before but this definitely makes me anticipate watching him more! I appreciate him awknowledging that Koreans aren't unbeatable but the tone many in the community take- that Koreans have inherent superpowers used for SC glory, is silly.

There is no secret formula or divine sacrifice for SC2 success. Practice with devotion and practice with intelligence and practice with others who feel the same and you'll improve beyond your contemporaries.

That must suck being (Z)YellOw²

I'm pretty sure Korean players wouldn't be afraid of Tarson if he were twice the player he is.

I like his gumption but the truth is he should be afraid.

Fear is your body telling you that you are in danger. I question the sanity of those who lack it.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There are three kinds of people in the world: those who can count and those who can't.
