Anyone who doesn't keep up the level of activity that they have shown pre-game will receive my wrath. Also, whoever said that this wouldn't reach the amount of pre-game spam as RoL's game? Dear Liquidia Four score and seven minutes ago our hosts brought forth in this fourm a new thread conceived in awesomeness and dedicated to the proposition that all men should post a lot. Now we are engaged in a great Mafia game testing whether this thread, or any thread so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great postingfield in honor of previous games. We have come to dedicate a portion of this thread as a final resting-place for those who here were active that that thier game might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground. The brave men, posting and dead, who struggled here have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The TL Mafia forum will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this thread under Node and LSB shall have a new birth of activity, and that my mayorship of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the thread. First order of business: COAG! WILL YOU BE MY BFF? Second order of business: Jackal, I had town select the vote day one when I was a blue mayor. It's not scummy. Yes, it makes it easier for scum to influence it, but the mayor needs to be very, very transparent so that the town can analyse him/her. Thus, letting the town weigh in on the lynch keeps the mayor honest. | ||

Kav's opinions and advice: Round 1 Analysis, analysis, analysis. Insane is perhaps the most themed game of themed games, and there are going to be a lot of really weird roles and such. Because of this analysis won't be quite as effective as it usually is, BUT this in NOT an excuse to not do it. I repeat: ANALYSIS IS NECESSARY. NOT OPTIONAL. Inactives: We are hurt by townies (and blues) going inactive more than ever in this game, because everyone has a role. The stakes are higher, so PLEASE stay active. Not spammy, but active. Mayor: Bum, this is directed at you. Your campaign revolves around making sure that the mayor does not fall into the wrong hands. This is evidenced by the fact that you are selling your self as blue, and having a circle of confirmed persons. You are NOT selling your scum hunting abilities. You are taking a very passive approach by using the mayoral protection for a blue. The problem is, we need active scum hunters. The game is won with analysis and scum hunting, NOT blues. As per the advice of the vet's in the previous game, Mafia will likely be shooting for the active leaders of the town, not blues. Thus the protection would be better given to them. I'm not saying that I doubt your townie-ness, but I am saying that the mayor needs to be a leader, and a good analyst. If you can step up to the plate and deliver those things I'll throw my vote in behind you, but so far you've not shown great analysis. The fact that you didn't see this problem with your plan, and revealed yourself that way is evidence that you are not analyzing things very well. Because of this, I'm keeping my name in the pool. One more thing to be very careful with is the confirmed townies. Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing, but only if it's used the right way. There have been countless games where people have followed an innocent townie's advice only to find it wrong. It is important that we remember that your (and all the blue's) views are innocent, but not 100% correct. There is one good thing that has come out of your claim though: We now have a mouthpiece through which the police force can speak, and someone who wouldn't be a bad medic target... | ||

If no one counterclaims, Bum is blue. If bum is blue and mafia/sk counter claim, we lynch them both. It's a 1-1 trade, and 1-1 trades are always town favored. If bum is mafia/sk, real blues counterclaim, we lynch them both, it's a 1-1 trade. The worst scenario is a 1-1 trade, and that's good for town. Because of this, I will trust that bum is blue until a counterclaim arises HOWEVER. I will restate that simply protecting a blue role is not good enough. We need to protect the people who will actively hunt scum. Vets and scumhunters cannot tell the mayor who to lynch if they are dead! Beyond that, the mayor only controls the day-one lynch, something that is a crap-shoot anyways. I strongly believe that blues should be helping the analysts, not the other way around. As has been said by Ver, BloodyC0bler, Ace, and many more Town wins because of analysis, not because of blues. Blues are very helpful, but we cannot rely on them. | ||

Mayor was only the shield I used so that I COULD hunt scum without dieing. This is about protecting the people that are going to be hit by the mafia early and often. Read the pre-game, we already had the discussion about who the mafia would hit: If they don't hit the vets/analysts they will be caught. If bum cannot analyse then the mafia would LOVE to see him as mayor, because it's protecting someone who they wouldn't have hit anyways. I want to stay active, and bring the pain to the red/black teams. I can't do this if I am dead. Vote for Kav. If this doesn't make sense, please let me know and I'll try to explain it more simply. | ||
