First off I would like to say that I don't absolutely think that this will happen or that this is true and that Rain will soon become the best player in the world. However I decided write a couple of similarities because they were kind of glaring and interesting, plus if Rain actually were to become the "best" player in the world that would blow my mind.

So to start I'll point out the major similarity that I saw:
Flash cheesed the "best" protoss played in the world, Bisu, out in the quarterfinals of the OSL (equivalent of course to the GSL in SC2)
Rain cheesed the "best (arguable with Fruitdealer)" zerg player in the world, NesTea, out in the quarterfinals of the GSL.
Both were then bombarded by hateful fans about being bad cheesy players, and Flash being called "Cheddar Terran" etc. etc.
Now for some more obvious things:
They of course both play Terran.
NesTea interestingly enough was a coach of KT Rolster (Flash's team).
Flash was one of the youngest players in Brood War to be as successful as he was, and this is sort equal to Rain being the first GSL Finalist to not have played professionally in Brood War, even though he isn't that young.
One more abstract thing is that, KT Rolster was the "best" (and I have been putting 'best' in parentheses because it is just an opinion that isn't necessarily mine) team in the world before Flash joined, having YellOw, Reach, Nal_rA, and others, and TSL was considered the best or one of the best teams in GSL Season 1 before Rain joined (or maybe he was in the team at this time, but he just wasn't in the GSL until season 2 when TSL was murdered).
These are just a few of the scary similarities of Flash and Rain, and of course someone could find hundreds of similarities between any player if they dug deep enough, I just thought these were obvious enough to be relevant. Once again don't think that this is some sort of prophecy that RAIN WILL BECOME THE NEXT FLASH that you should believe in, just keep it in the back of your mind.

I LB against him due to the way he played with FD and it was trash,i am also extremely surprised he won Hongun later.I doubt Rain will win against Iron, not even a ghost chance.

I would be very, very surprised if Rain became as good as Flash. + Show Spoiler +I guess we'll find out in the finals

The biggest difference is that Flash could beat rain with his left pinky on his first time playing the game.

Rain seems subpar to me. Guy who has decent fundamentals, but will run into problems when he cant take cheese games off other players. Ive watched most of his GSL stuff, and aside form the Nestea, his general game sense was average I would say. Although he does manage to pull out alot of wins so maybe im being to hard on him...
But the next flash? I seriously, seriously doubt it.

It's true Flash used to be seen as nothing more than a cheesy kid who knocked out good players with luck.
It's also true that there are a lot of cheesy players who end up sucking massively in the long run.
Rain could be either, his career is still young.

Flash's mechanics are just so strong. Rain lost every macro game he played.

agreed. we could just as well say Davit is the next Flash. Rain needs to actually win multiple GSLs to get the honor.

kt didn't win a proleague until this year, despite all their stars it's hard to say they were the best team when flash joined.

oGsMC will murder Rain and then we will all see that it will be much, much longer before we see the ultimate weapon of SC2.

except he wouldnt. flashs weak point has always been games under 15 min, and incase youve never watched a gsl match, then dont really make it that far. I sure wish they did, and if the maps/game would support it, i would jizz to flash in sc2. but realisticly flash wouldnt have any better of a change in gsl than a average code s player because games would never get to the point where his decision making and macro would benefit him.
he would get coinflipped with the rest of em.

I hope he at least does well, I feel like he has taken an unneccesary amount of hate from the SC community.

Flash was a beast BW player when he beat Bisu with cheese ...................................................................................................

Flash has the best early game defense in the world... That is certainly not his weak point unless he goes ahead and does something stupid like that WCG game against Jaedong or his whole series against Effort.

meh. i disagree, but weak point here is relative. I think his strongest play is in the later stages of the game.
id love to see him try to turtle off 2 base vs a zerg who takes the hole map and then push out and steam roll them.
