It'd be great if these things became affordable so that an average person could rent/buy one just to do yardwork or move furniture or whatever need be. I think in 25 years that's not unreasonable. Now as for a combat suit, they're still awfully bulky and extremely power hungry. You also have to keep in mind that these things would stick out like a sore thumb, which is really awkward in today's urban/guerrilla combat scenarios. If you want something that's designed to withstand incredible forces and do what a person can do, make a robot.

It's a cool idea, but it's not like a military combat suit in the sense most people think it is. It's actually more of an industrial powered lift that you wear. It still could have MASSIVE commercial application and of course has use in military applications as well. I'm really interested to see what's going to come of this in the future. Perhaps in the future the military will be able to train you to be an SCV in 17 seconds. Think about it, you could build a building all by your lonesome before you have time to finish your first of many chain smoked cigarettes.

Related: I have an uncle who works for Raytheon. Not even his wife knows what he does for them. If you ask him, he'll say he works for Raytheon. If you ask him what his job is, he'll say that he works for Raytheon. Nobody even knows if he works on land, air, or sea. But his degree is in aero engineering, so... But nobody knows for sure.
