So it is now 8pm est on the 28th of Wednesday. I preordered SC2 from gamestop with overnight shipping like 2months ago and there is still no sign of it or a tracking number. The only information they've given me was that my order is being "verified".
At first I freaked out that my status had not changed to "shipped" on the 27th but after doing additional research I found that alot of others were having the same problem. These people had also called gamestop with a big "WTF?" sign on their forehead. Gamestop assured them that all the orders had been shipped and their servers were just "catching up" with everyones orders and tracking numbers.
But I did not receive my copy on the 27th. Even called the package people to make sure nothing had shown up. I was a bit worried but I thought maybe I misread the site and my copy was shipped on the 27th and I would get it today (the 28th). Well 5pm rolls by on the 28th and nooo SC2 while my order status is still labeled as "verified".
I check back at 8pm today and guess what popped up as the status. They had cancelled my order! I knew all my shipping and card information was correct since I had checked it multiple times. I didn't even get an email, I learned about it from physically logging onto gamestop and checking the order itself.
This was my first time ordering something from gamestop. I did it for the beta key since I usually go with amazon. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for the past 3 days but they have only proven to me that customer service is the least of their priorities. I remember reading that If you don't get your copy on the 27th then they will give you a full refund. Well I sure did get a full refund but I didn't think it was in the form of the order being cancelled LOL.
Anyone else having problems with gamestop or am I just the unluckiest SC2 fan in the world? I know for a fact I'm never ordering anything from them again regardless of how much they sugarcoat their deals with beta-keys and guaranteed arrivals.

I attempted to cancel my order yet it is already in my hand, (Australia). Unlucky dude, definitely scream and yell as much as possible. Personally i have no love gamestop at all.

Wow man I'm really sorry to hear that. I would be so pissed if I were you. If you can find salvage in anything, at least you got a beta key and now you'r money back. I know it isn't much for what it's worth but it's something rather than nothing. Screw GameStop and don't cut any deals with them, just get you'r money refunded and go elsewhere because they don't deserve any of you'r money.

This happened to some guy from Greece with Play.com, they cancelled his order the day of release, apparently it was costing to much to ship..

This is probably a local or online issue. The gamestops around my house have been pretty much great, I've always had a good experience there, aside from the downright unfair prices trade-ins get.

I'm in the same exact boat as you with but with amazon, i preorderd for the beta key months ago and am still waiting for my copy .... i cant cancel it myself due to having used the beta key and because of that i cant buy another copy off somewhere else in case it goes though. i got so f*cked over, i ordered from amazon due to the good rep of them delivering games one day before release.

Agreed. Why wouldn't ppl just go to the store and pick up the copy? I'm not trying to troll, I just can't think of a reason why, assuming you live in the U.S.

You were confident in Amazon.com who in my experience has always made day 1 delivery. Then use a different avenue? That seems weird.
Anyways I ordered from Amazon and received my copy at 8AM from the courier.

What you have to realize is that GameStop is a big company, the company as a whole that is.
It would be dumb to assume that every gamestop is as bad as the one you ordered from, also im pretty sure they had a few thousand copies to ship out and the same amounts of orders to process, and even though they are a big company i am sure that most of the web stuff is done by a person, as opposed to a computer.
Remember computers can glitch ,and people can mess up.
If you do not recieve a full refund or the game i suggest you go to your nearest gamestop with a printout of the recieit you got when you pre-ordered the game (im pretty sure they would give you one) and demand what you think is right.

I knew stuff like this would happen so i went to walmart at midnight, luckily i live in a small town with a walmart that was doing the midnight release. i was 4th in line out of 20 people. They had 150 copy's.... But if i haven't of gotten beta keys from opt in i would of went to gamestop i suppose.

Sorry to hear man. I pre-ordered mine in store, and I picked it up at a midnight release. Got there at 1155 and was out by 1205 am. I'm really happy with how mine did for me. Hope you get it soon.

No, it's fucking 8:37pm, July 28th and I just confirmed mine will be here tomorrow. So now I'm deciding to wait, or cancel my order and go buy 1 within the hour.

i could deffinately see why some people couldn't just go to the gamestop, theres probably TONS of people out there who wanted to play beta so they pre ordered it for delivery from gamestop because they probably don't live near a gamestop at all, i know its hard to believe they're practically like starbucks but i can deffinately see situations where people live over an hour away from the closest gamestop my buddy lives about an hour and a half from the closest place to buy video games myself i'm lucky to live in the bay area where there are tons of electronic stores, but some aren't so lucky

If you wanted the game early dunno why you didn't just go to a midnight release... there are over 30 gamestops in Las Vegas, and every one had a midnight release, there was rarely more than 30 people in line at each one, everyone was usually outta there by 12:30.

Many people pre-ordered when they have an online coupon for 10-20% off online purchases. That was why I preordered my copy from GameStop. The total ended up being $43.
