(P)Kal: "The beginning was good, the feeling was good and the mood was good."

-You won two games in your first series of 2010.
▲I just think of it as doing what I'm supposed to do. Since I practiced without any breaks, I feel very good.

-STX became the first team to get 7 wins in a row in the 09-10 season.
▲If we ride our team's good mood, we will do very well. I'm not sure how many more games we will win (laughs). It would be nice if we could keep winning.

-Last season, there was a time when your team had 8 wins in a row.
▲It's the same mood as it was then. Every player on our team practices the way they should. It's very relaxed when we pratice. I guess that's why we have so many wins in a row.

-Your 3 gate rush against (P)Pure was very strong.
▲From the beginning, I played with the mindset that I would win. However, his probe saw my dragoon count in the middle and I had an ominous feeling. I was confident in my build, but I felt that my opponent would be able to match it, so I was pretty anxious. Normally, I don't use these kinds of builds very often, so I thought that it would be successful. If he blocked my attack, I think that it would have been difficult to win. I'm confident on Match Point, so even if I played at a disadvantage, I think that I could have won anyway.

-Did you prepare in advance for an ace match?
▲Calm hyung and I both practiced for it. We said that the person who wins their match would go out to play for the ace match. The player that lost could still be burdened by their loss, so we decided that the winner would help shoulder that burden.

-Did you practice with a PvZ in mind?
▲I thought that there was a 50:50 chance that it would be a Zerg. I prepared for both a PvT and a PvZ. I practiced a lot, so I wasn't that worried.

-It felt like it was a pretty easy win.
▲The critical point of the match came when I was caught at the 12 o'clock position. The first scouting probe went back to mine my minerals. It was a psychological blow. But I was able to keep it alive for a long time and see my opponent's build order so that I could react properly and there wasn't any big crisis.*

-The next series is against Ace, are you confident in getting 8 wins in a row?
▲I am confident. I think that it is possible. My teammates are all working hard, so there should be no problems. I am confident against Terran, but since (T)DarkElf hyung has a hanbang attack, I think that I will have to prepare carefully.

-Do you think 2010 will go well?
▲The beginning was good, the feeling is good and the mood is good. I have a good feeling about it. I think it will go well.

-Do you have any last words?
▲The new year has started. I wish a lot of luck in the New Year to the fans. I will work hard in 2010, so I hope you will continue to support me.

(T)Bogus: "I want to get 10 wins in Proleague."

-You won your first game in 2010.
▲Today's game was very difficult and tiring. I am happy about getting the win though. Since it was my first win in this season's proleague, it was that much more satisfying.

-Were you happy with your performance?
▲I think the situation was better than I thought it was. However, I made a lot of mistakes, so the game was pretty sloppy. There were a lot of mistakes in the beginning and middle of the game.

-Your first attack force was chewed up by zerglings.
▲That wasn't the reason why the game became so hard. However, it was a force that could have avoided being killed. I was taken aback by that moment though.

-As you were macroing in the second half of the game, you made a lot of tanks.
▲They are very effective at securing a starting point expansion. I was even able to utilize them to attack as I watched my opponent's situation. So I used a lot of tanks.

-You were very good at keeping your vessels alive.
▲By the end of the game, I had about a group and 6 vessels left. It was about a group and a half. Although I lost a lot of vessels in the first half of the game, there weren't any opportunities in the second half for my opponent to capture any of my vessels.

-Did you get a lot of experience from the MSL?
▲I still think that my skills from practice aren't coming out well. As I become more adapted, I think that I will be able to do well. My experience in the MSL is definitely helping me a lot.

-Do you have any goals for 2010?
▲My first goal at the beginning of the season was to get at least 10 wins. There is still the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds and still some time left in the 2nd round. I hope that I will still be able to accomplish the goal I set for myself at the beginning.

-Do you have any last words?
▲(Z)Modesty hyung is very good at ZvT, so he assumed full responsibility for my practice and helped me. I feel that it really did help me a lot. I just wanted to say thank you to (Z)Modesty hyung. I will work hard so that I can play better in the future.

I'm glad STX won, but I really wish Calm would have played the ace match, because I wanted to hear what he had to say about his first game. Kal is awesome, though. I'm really impressed by STX's team dynamic - between the Hwasin/Kal thing and the agreements they put into place about ace match, it seems like they're very close.

Thanks for the translation, ghostWriter!

Yeah, this practice of only interviewing the winners is so... well, boring, to be honest.

I think July talked somewhere about STX being a good and friendly environment - now that I think of it, both him and now Frozean started playing better once they got on STX. It's one of the reasons I like them, they seem like a very friendly / chill team.

Also, thanks a lot for the translation Ghostwriter! STX interviews rarely get translated
